I didn't read most of that stuff, but here's my opinion. I probably wouldn't want to wrestle a girl. Only because I would feel uncomfortable. This has absolutely nothing to do with "respecting women". That said, men are without a doubt better as a sex at (most?) sports. There's just no use arguing that.
Even if he forfited, he should have denied another round to compete. You can't have the league decide who to pair up based upon religious beliefs so the system should know that if you pass up on another girl in the system that you take the penalty for it.
I don't think he asked to not have the consequences of his forfeit. Its a double elimination tournament from what I understand, so he took the loss and carried on with the rest of his matches.
as a bit of resolution (and I haven't seen this reported anywhere yet), John Northrup went on to win his next match 9-0 and then lost in 3OT to the eventual 7th-place winner. Cassy Herkelman lost 5-1 in her next match to the eventual 6th-place winner, and then got pinned in 1:21 by the eventual 3rd-place winner.
Where were all the tender guardians of female bodies when a Laker fan highjacked a thread on the Kings possible move to sing the praises of rape? Because, you know, it was just rough sex, right, every woman wants a man to beat the shit out of her and stuff his dick down her throat, even if she says no, and if she doesn't want it, she should. I didn't see Brian et all protesting. Where were all you tender guardians of female bodies when we heard the chortling over Lara Logan being raped while reporting in Egypt? Oh yeah, that was funny. Where were the tender guardians of female bodies when an ESPN reporther had a camera secretly filming her nude in her hotel room? Running to watch the video? Beating up a woman is violence; engaging in a voluntary sport with a woman (or girl) is not. I mean, it's a pretty elementary distinction. What about the impact on others? This boy did not just forfeit a match, the whole school did. What if this forfeit keeps them from competing for a state championship? Does he have the right to decide for the school? IMO, the rape defenders and opponents of women/girls in sports are two sides of the same coin. One side says women/girls must be forced to do what they don't want, the other says women/girls must be prevented from doing what they do want. In both cases, women and girls are not allowed to make our decisions, males do and impose them. Not surprising then that you tender defenders of female bodies are nowhere to be found when women are really assaulted. Except laughing. I don't know this boy and I really don't know if he truly believes that having a penis means he has a god-given right to make decisions about what women/girls can do, or if he's just a coward afraid of losing to a girl and using god as an excuse. But I do think he's a sexist, a jerk, and lacking in team solidarity. And in for a rude awakening later in life when he learns that guess what, he WILL have to compete against women and some are going to be better than him.
Where are you pulling this from? He didn't say she couldn't wrestle, he in fact he went out of his way to praise her making it into the tournament. She can wrestle whoever she wants to, and she can quit whenever she wants to, just like any other high school kid. But you want to take away his rights. http://sportstwo.com/threads/144324...orter-nude-video/page3?highlight=erin andrews Post 51 and 73 and 100 say hello. http://sportstwo.com/threads/178295...s-ass-kicked-by-Egyptian-protestors?p=2538193 posts 35 and 36 say hello. You're right, it's voluntary. And he volunteered not to, accepted the consequence of not doing so, applauded the girl for her accomplishment and moved on with his life. Here's what going to blow your frickin' mind...your characterization of him as a sexist jerk lacking team solidarity seems that you're advocating forcing a 16 y/o boy to have unwanted touching, groping and "wrassling" with someone he doesn't want to. That seems pretty close to an advocation of sexual harassment at the least, and rape at the extreme. Maybe he just should've succumbed to the peer pressure and done it anyway, huh? Of course in your world it can't be any other option, like, you know, what he actually said? You're right...we should all worry about who wins in sports instead of doing the right thing. That's what I hope our young people get out of HS competition. I'm fairly certain that, later in life when he's "competing" with women, he won't be forced to grope someone he's uncomfortable with groping. And if told he has to, he's able to quit his job. And if that makes him a sexist jerk in your book, I'm assuming that he'll bear in mind that you don't share anything close to his worldview of love and respect for all and will therefore count you as another person to pray for, like I do.
Apologize. Look it up, candrc. I called Mamba out for his making excuses for K*be. I addressed the horrors Lara Logan had done to her by calling out the news organizations sweeping it under the rug. And I also addressed the Erin Andrews issue, saying that person should go to prison and anyone who watched that video was guilty of being a peeping tom. So your answer was that I was right in the middle of it. I try to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you are the most bigoted person on this forum.
Yeah, what he said. Plus, I thought I was the most bigoted person on the board. I am so honest about it that I even admit openly that I would rather rassle a girl than ANY black guy. Not to be racist, I just like to dominate women. If I remember correctly I made it clear that I watched the Erin Andrews video but didn't get any thrill out of it because she already knew it existed. I also swear that I remember reading somewhere that every woman does want a man to stuff his dick down her throat. Sarah Palin just screams that every time she speaks. Her words are really code for "I am so stupid, please please please just shut me up big boy" Ok, seriously though...not trying to be funny here as I was earlier. (I know at least one person wasn't laughing, if not all)..................... I literally want to know what comes first, the chicken or the egg. I also want to know what comes first, the crazy left wing nutjob feminist or the poor awkward girl who doesn't fit in with the normal people.
Oh yeah, if you want proof that people can speak emphatically about something they obviously don't know anything about check out the first response to the OP in this thread.............http://sportstwo.com/threads/179577-LCD-LED-or-Plasma
