Yes and No the booze is talking. Doesn't matter. I would fucking cry my stupid eyes out if/when we win a championship. I would break down, fall on my knees, thank Christ, and go on a full raping spree. Joking about the rape part, of course. Either way. I would party for at least 9 days.
Well, I remember what it felt like when we won the lottery back in 07... and that feeling was amazing. I honestly can't imagine what I would do if we won the whole thing.
I'm not trying to rip open any wounds here. Really. But the closest I came to fully believing we won a Championship was game 7, 2000. There was a moment during that game that I was completely convinced we won the Championship. I was overwhelmed with excitement. We all know how that turned out. Either way. The answer is "YES" - I would ball my fucking eyes out for a prolonged period of time if/when the Blazers win a Championship.
Been there, done that. But...
I think I might cry if we loss, but I don't recall crying when we won our first championship. Then again I didn't cry when we loss the two finals in 90s. I'd be super happy. Man I was pretty happy after the win against the nuggets!! That was the loudest I've been after a win in a while.
No. I didn't cry when the Packers just won a championship and I wouldn't cry if the Blazers won one either. I would cheer however.
It wouldn't be crying, per-say, as much as pure joy. Of course, it depends on whats happening in my life at the time. If I'm 80 and they've finally won a 2nd title, I'm sure I'd be more like Red Sox fans in 2004. If it was, by some miracle, this year, I'd probably be like "what the hell just happened" and then go up to random people and do the dance of joy like Cousin Larry and Balki.
I was 19 when we won the title in 77. I'll never forget it. It was the greatest feeling I've ever experienced in my life. I went downtown to Broadway after the game and was hugging everybody and kissing random chicks. I think I've been chasing that feeling since then...
Me too. I actually cried right before kick-off in that game. I was so embarrassed - had friends over, and I'm not the crying type. But I was just overcome with emotion and as I was talking about how proud I was that the Duck's team captains made a self-imposed curfew, and how they viewed that game as a "business trip" . . . all of the sudden my voice starting trembling and I exploded in tears. Weak Sauce, I know. I can't even imagine how I would feel to see the Blazers WIN a championship. Especially if it was with this core. If Roy and Oden came back to dominate (I know HIGHLY unlikely) it would be such a great story. The sweetest victories are the ones preceded by the most pain. The injuries our team has had to deal with over the last several years have been devastating. Injuries happen to everybody, but the magnitude of ours have been so harsh. "Out for the season" and "may never be the same" . . . I wonder how many times I've heard that in the last 2 years? The only thing I can compare it to would be like the Red Sox in 2004. After coming close, but coming up short so many times. And having their rival Yankees knock them out year after year. To be down 3-0 in that series, and come back to win against THE YANKEES against all odds. That's the kind of bliss Blazer fans would feel. And I think we'd all be crying. Perhaps for days!
I was 10 when the Blazers won in 77. I recall leaping off my deck doing the Pete Townshend rock star spread eagle kick thing and then running circles around my house until I couldn't do it anymore. After collapsing in the front lawn, my dog who had chased and barked at me the last couple laps, then licked my face like it was covered in honey while I laughed my ass off between exhausted pants. Good times! If I'm lucky enough to experience another Blazer championship there will probably be more running and jumping going on. Whoever is around me is going to get kissed and hugged probably while I'm jumping. I wouldn't hold tears back, but I doubt they'll be flowing. I've never cried for joy... not that there is anything wrong with it btw... I like the way the roster projects next year STOMP
Dude i nearly shed tears last night when watching the team hug after the game. So, ya. And I'm usually not that sensitive.
I totally would; I'll probably cry if they win a first round series this year. I'm one of those who cries whenever something heroic happens in movies (Lord of the Rings is like Steel Magnolias to me), and this would be very similar. If we win the championship, I'll be weeping manly tears of joy.
