He just reminds me of him. I just checked the stats though and I realize Smith averages over 5 assists while Nelson never got over 3. Nelson was a great defender of the 1 and 2 in college and so is Smith. Nelson doesn't have the chops to be an NBA PG and I don't think Smith does either.

Nelson was an undersized 2 guard, that got along with pure athletic ability. Smith is a heady PG with good size for that position, defends well and leads the ACC in assists and points.

If were talking about high school ball though, yes. Nelson was a much better player at that level.

As pro prospects, I see nothing similar.

Another guy we should take a look at in the draft is Jordan Taylor of Wisconsin. Crazy intangibles, heady player, strong and can defend.

Kinda reminds me of Andre Miller with a little bit more range.

his FTA rate this year is slightly above his career average.

you are right about the toll on the bodies that taking it hole takes from high flyers. Not only do those types tend to miss a lot of games to injury, speed typically starts tailing off for them by their early 30's... thats what scares me about DH. What I do like about him is that they'd have another long athletic player on the court which would seem to add that much more to their D.

Dwight Hardy of St. Johns is going to start climbing up the draft boards. He's lights out.

Dwight Hardy is averaging 2 assists and 2.3 turnovers per game this year ... PGotF really?

To become contenders I think it's CP3 or bust.

Not really a great playmaker. Not much of a stretch from Fredette's 4 assists to 3.5 TO's. Similar type player, sparks off the bench.

In addition to the TJ Ford rumor, Mike Bibby's camp has let it be known they'd like a buyout from the Wiz and the Blazers are a one of the teams he would consider.

    No. More. Combo. Guards.

    That's just a nice way of saying "he's a SG in a PG's body".

I completely agree, no more bayless situations. We need a guy who is going to create shots for others, not just drive to the basket hoping to get fouled.

Of the prospects that have been listed, which fits that criteria?

Hey man I'm not here to talk shit about what other people say and start arguments, I wasn't talking about any of the people listed, I was talking about bayless. You guys on these forums forget that we're on the same side, we all want the blazers to win. Instead it's all arguments and insults about other blazer fans opinions. Everyone chill, go blazers, RIP CITY.

My favorite point guard in the league is Russell Westbrook
But for realistic PG's to go after I like Raymond Felton, DJ Augustin, Mo Williams, and even Jose Calderone though I know he's not having a great year.

Glad I didn't offer up an opinion in this thread.
