    I love this game.

Over at RealGm, my friend Magilla Gorilla was the preacher in the desert counting down the days until Omer would be a Bull and, like any true prophet, the masses rejected his message and ridiculed him.

His message of hope in the coming of The Asik has never been more spot on and I'm sure he revels in being so very, very right in his optimism.

Magilla the Baptist...yeah, I like it.

I made a point of watching a number of Turkey's games in the Worlds. I came away fairly impressed with Asik, mainly because it was clear from what I saw that he was neither soft nor a stiff. Asik has pretty much been what I thought he'd be, though he was more aggressive offensively in the Worlds than he's been here. The kid can definitely play.

Yeah, Magilla was on the bandwagon before the Worlds when all that was circulating were those awful youtube clips of his play with his team in Turkey. I certainly didn't see it then. Asik played great at the World Championships, though, and you new he was going to produce in some fashion. I think I still view him as young potential and not a finished producing player. If he never improves, he's only going to be a good backup option, like he is now. There's no reason why we should expect him not to improve, although it doesn't always work that way.
