now or offseason? In the offseason, it's unlikely, but you ask about Perkins, Jordan, Gasol, Big Baby, Landry, Tyson Chandler, Kris Humphries, Spencer Hawes

Channing Frye is probably the perfect Center for this team now that LaMarcus is our inside guy.

I believe trades can be made during the off-season.

But we really should be going after Blake Griffin ASAP.He could be a pretty effective guy alongside LaMarcus.

I dont think blake griffin is a realistic possibility. We had frye and he still lives in oregon but he never played. i dont think i'd want him im thinking more big defensive minded center would be perfect. God please let Oden get healthy!

That site also says that joel freeland is 20 years old. Makes me think that the stats might be a little out of date. He is really 24.

If the Blazers sign him to a 10 day, they lose their rights to him.

I just find it odd how many people are convinced the guy is such a great prospect. If he was any good, he'd be here. Most players who wait, wait for a reason.

One that is actually willing to come play in Portland, and has a huge insurance policy on his knees

Yes, and his reason was that he wanted to play and gain experience. The Blazers were supposed to have a lot of 4s and 5s on their roster until injuries took Joel and Greg out of the lineup. The Blazers agreed that he should play rather than sit at the end of their bench and were involved with the contract discussions with his current Euro team. The contract reportedly has a reasonable buyout. I don't know that Freeland is the savior at the 4/5 spot, but he's certainly worth a look at this point. I doubt that he can join the team this year, but I'd definitely get him over here over the summer.

ESPN is saying that it is indeed Earl Barron that we are after...also, we are cooling on Ford and Bibby for chemistry related concerns...

I think Barron is a solid choice. Nothing exciting, but a much needed big with NBA experience

He wasn't first division 4 years ago. He's only been with Unicaja 2 years, so the stats are right and the age is wrong.

The summer we drafted him and the summer after, he wanted badly to be here. Then Freeland said, sign me or I can't turn down the big money anymore. Pritchard wanted more seasoning. So for the last couple of summers, he's turned down our Summer League offer. I think he thinks, "I gave my loyalty to the team who wanted it. But of course, money talks. It'll just cost you a lot more than it would have."

I don't think he's a great prospect, but he's better than the D-Leaguer we'll pick up if Camby takes any longer to return.

Earl Barron has signed with the Bucks today.

    On to the next one...

Want another big Przybilla (when Joel was healthy), only he can score? Antoine Walker of the Idaho Stampede has slowed down so much, that the 3-time all-star is now Przybilla. He is desperate to make a million bucks, which is all he owes and then he's clear. He'd be very motivated.

Even if I'm wrong, we don't lose anything. Only 2 months left.

Well, look at centers in the D-League. Now, look at the long list of ones so experienced that they wouldn't need a year on the Blazers before McMillan would play them.

The list is so short that I thought I'd suggest him. McMillan won't play just any old Chris Johnson or Tolliver, you know.

Edit: Remember, we're looking for a bandaid who can play immediately, then get out of town a week later when Camby returns, or at least leave at the end of the season.

We'll get whatever refuse no other team wants. That's what's taking so long.

Eddy Curry is being bought out, even with all his baggage (and there's a lot of it, literally) he's still light years better than either of the Collins twins.
