Re: Predict your team's off-season this summer Washington Wizards2006 NBA DRAFT18th pick: We should grab a big man like Alexander Johnson, he would fit perfectly in our system. He has been impressing the scouts in recent workouts, and I'd love to get a big man with his size, skill, and athleticsm. If he is already gone by the 18th pick (which I doubt), a SG like Maurice Ager or Mardy Collins would be great for us as well. Both players are great perimeter defensive SGs. 48th pick: Assuming Alexander Johnson is gone in the 1st rd by the 18th pick, and assuming we draft a SG instead, we should get Taj Gray in the 2nd round at the 48th pick. He has so much strength, despite being "undersized", and likes to bang in the paint. He's almost like a better version of Haywood, stronger, and more tougher in the paint. He also is a good man-to-man defender and has good rebounding skills. FREE AGENCYRe-sign Jared Jeffries to a reasonable amount of money. Don't overpay him, don't overrate him because of his good defense. If he wants more money, let him go, because he isnt worth it. I'm sure Grunfeld will know what to do in this situation. We should also sign a guy like Fred Jones or DeShawn Stevenson for the MLE, just to add more depth. That was a big problem in the regular season and in the playoffs against the Cavs. Teams that become contenders for the championship always have depth on their bench. Take a look at the Mavs and the Heat, their benches are loaded.

Re: Predict your team's off-season this summer You gotta find someone that you will get for Mihm. That will improve your roster a lot. But, there's not that much money. No way you will sign Harrington and Kareem Rush, with Marcus Banks. The draft will help you much.Pistons will resign Ben, sign Speedy Claxton to the MLE, and draft Marco Killingsworth. Tony Delk will walk, as will Kelvin Cato or Dale Davis. Not much for Detroit, no first round pick. Flip Saunders will stay. Don't expect a Wallace trade.
Re: Predict your team's off-season this summer Dallas Mavericks: Draft: With Fernandez dropping out, I have to go with drafting Paul Mislap to fill our void at backup pf when Van Horn walks. With the second round pick, draft Will Blalock to bring in the backup pg and playmaker that we need for our sometimes stagnant offense and in case of injury. Free Agency: Number one priority is resigning Jason Terry. All signs point to him resigning to a reasonable contract. Also, Lazy showed me a statement by Armstrong indicating he wants to play one more year with the Mavs. So I can see him resigning a one year minimum deal again. Let Van Horn walk, resign Powell with the LLE, Rawle with a minimum deal, and Benga/Griffin with MLE. Trade: Daniels, Stackhouse are both possibilities in trades. Stack has an expiring deal, while Daniels still has value and with his limited playing time here, could bring in someone of need. I expect both to stay, but those are the two I expect to be involved, if any trades do indeed go down. After getting to the Finals, I don't expect any major overhaul, just certain spots need improvement and I think we can achieve that through the draft.
Re: Predict your team's off-season this summer Draft: In the 2006 Draft, Marcus Williams is our answer. He is a playmaker that can set up Joe Johnson, and Josh Smith for good shots. PG, is one of our biggest weaknesses. Joe is not a true PG, and Williams is one of the truest PG's on the collegiate level. In the 2nd round, I think we should pick up Hilton Armstrong or Paul Milsap, both are great defensive players, and tremendous rebounders. They would both be great pick-ups.Free Agency: Sign: Brevin Knight- He's a veteren PG, who is also a playmaker, and a tremendous defensive player. He can guide Marcus Williams through his rookie year, and share time with Williams. Those two should fill our PG hole. Sign: Nene or Chris Wilcox- Both are young bigmen who have potential. Wilcox showed what he can do in his 26/24 game performence this year. Nene was out for the season because of injury, but he'll be back at full strength next season.2nd FA Choice: Alonzo Morning is he doesnt resign.Trade: Josh Childress+5th Pick for 1st Pick and Jose Calderon or Andre BarrettLineup - excluding the tradeC: Zaza Pachulia - Hilton Armstrong/Paul Milsap/ Possibley ZoPF: Nene/Chris Wilcox - Marvin Williams SF: Josh Smith - Marvin WilliamsSG: Joe Johnson - Josh Childress PG: Brevin Knight - Marcus Williams *Marvin should get about 30+ minutes a game

Re: Predict your team's off-season this summer Draft a PG or Big manAnd for god sake Danny Ainge please don't make trades for guys like Dan Dickau and pleeeeeeeeeease don't sign another Brian Scalabrine. If Ainge doesn't make any retarted transactions I will consider it a successfull off-season for the Celts
Re: Predict your team's off-season this summer Draft: Marcus Williams, unless we can get a pg via free agency. Then we can go for O'Bryant or if like Thomas or Bargnani drops or something.Free agency: We'll probably make a strong oush for Speedy Claxton, but i doubt he'll sign with us. I guess there's also a possibility of Jay Williams, too.Trades: I don't expect much, unless it's the pick with a minor player. No big trades.
Re: Predict your team's off-season this summer I agree with Rok 100%. I hope Daniels stays, but if he's not going to get playing time then whatever.
Re: Predict your team's off-season this summer I like the Celtics right now. Solid lineup, solid chemistry. Just need to add depth to the bench. As was suggested before, I'd love to see a stong push for Speedy Claxton, maybe use Jay Williams as an alternative back up case, but I don't think he can be a solid NBA player after everything he's gone through. I'd say to either pick O'Bryant or Aldridge, or to deal it for a late first rounder and a 2nd rounder where you could get Rajon Rondo, Mardy Collins, or Kyle Lowry, then get a big man in the 2nd round, Ryan Hollins, Leon Powe, or Craig Smith type of player. That was we could get a 1/2 guard to go along with Delonte, and a project big-man (even though Smith isnt really a project. what you see is what you get with him) for the NBDL that could be decent for us down the road. Maybe also sign a vet big man, but no Scalabrine type deals, like was said before. We don't need a guy to come in and play 20-25 mins a game, just a guy who knows what hes doing, and when on the floor does his job, and can help teach guys like Perk and Jefferson how to dominate. My ideal roster would look like this...PG- Delonte/Claxton (or Williams)/Late 1st round PG (Rondo, Lowry, Collins)SG- Wally/Allen/GeraldSF- Pierce/GeraldPF- Jefferson/Gomes/ScalembrineC- Perkins/LaFrentz/Rand vet. big man/2nd round C (Hollins, Smith, Powe)Looks like a solid 6/7/8 seed to me.
