Re: Article: Re: Game #59, Bulls @ Hawks - Game Thread Bulls should win, as long as they don't anger Crawford.
Re: Article: Re: Game #59, Bulls @ Hawks - Game Thread I think the Bulls should win, as long as they don't anger Hinrich.
Re: Article: Re: Game #59, Bulls @ Hawks - Game Thread With Smith out, it takes away one of their shot blockers! Boozer and Rose should do better! Even to a lesser extent Deng and Noah!
Against Portland, Atlanta finished the game with a Hinrich / Crawford backcourt. Familiar? Kirk drew a charge at the end, but almost shot the Blazers back in the game...
Re: Article: Re: Game #59, Bulls @ Hawks - Game Thread Almost shot the blazers back in the game? Sounds familiar! lol
Re: Article: Re: Game #59, Bulls @ Hawks - Game Thread Kirk Hinrich has never been the type of guy to mince words, so when he talks about how difficult it is to guard Derrick Rose, it's even easier to understand why the Bulls' 22 year-old point guard has become a legitimate MVP candidate in just his third season. "It's a nightmare," said Hinrich, who was traded by the Washington Wizards to the Atlanta Hawks last week. "With his strength and athleticism it definitely has to be a team effort for sure." When Hinrich and the Hawks face the Bulls Wednesday night, it will have to be a team effort from a group of guys that he still doesn't know very well himself. The veteran guard admits he was a little surprised by the trade. As luck would have it, he gets to face off against the team he grew up with, and had a hard time leaving earlier this summer, in the Chicago Bulls. "It's a little different, I guess," he said of facing his old teammates. "Just because I have really good relationships with all those guys. Other than that, it's just another game. And I'm still trying to get acclimated here, so I'm just trying to get focused on that." The Bulls know that Hinrich will be ready. He was one of the most popular players in the locker room during his time in Chicago and his old teammates are looking forward to seeing him. "Kirk obviously knows a lot of personnel pretty well," Bulls center Joakim Noah said. "Kirky is also a very competitive player, and someone who will always come ready to play against the Chicago Bulls, I think." Rose is just looking forward to the challenge of facing off against his old buddy. "It should be fun," Rose said. "It should feel like any other game, like when he was in Washington, he was playing the same way, playing aggressive, playing the way he normally plays, and that's well." For Rose, the matchup reminds him of all those days the pair used to square off in practice. "I know that I will be better after this game," Rose said. "Every game you play against a good defender like that you're going to get better because you kind of get prepared for it. And I just can't wait. It's somebody that I came in the league, [he] took me under his wing. It should be fun tonight." Rose's success throughout the season hasn't stunned his former mentor. Hinrich knew that Rose was supremely talented. "I wouldn't say surprised," Hinrich said of the jump Rose has made this season. "But just watching him, you still shake your head at times. It's unbelievable how well he's playing." Read more: http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/news/story?id=6174636
Re: Article: Re: Game #59, Bulls @ Hawks - Game Thread It will be very strange to see DRose and the boys playing against both Hinrich and JAMAL. I don't envy Hinrich have to guard Rose. Jamal won't really try that hard to guard Rose, so he won't really be embarrassed. Hinrich and JAMAL playing playoff ball with the Atlanta Hawks. Strange, strange, strange.
