He is doing a very good job for the Clippers. Once Kaman comes back he and Griffin will hog all the minutes in the post.

The Knicks need a big man desperately to block shots, fill in the lanes, grab rebounds and provide a post presence. New York can afford him and need someone of his caliber to be closer to being a contender.

I think the plan in Clipperland is to trade Kaman and keep the Griffin-DJ tandem in place. Donald Sterling is unpredictable though and I agree DJ would be a great fit in New York.

The Knicks will need a shot blocking presence aside from Turiaf to have post season success. How about a guy like Varejao or New York native Joakim Noah?

I don't know about getting rid of Kaman. When he is healthy he is a great asset to have as far as size and post presence goes. In the NBA teams try to keep as many skilled big men as possible. If Perkins were as effective as a Dwight Howard or Kaman then the Celtics would not have let him go.

As far as Varejao, I love that idea. Cleveland could definitely use some of NY's players since they have skill. Varejao would free up space for Amare to go to work. Chicago would never get rid of Noah at this point. He is extremely valuable. Rebounds, blocks, can run up and down the floor with guards and plays with tremendous effort. Rose is the MVP of the Bulls and Noah is the heart of the team.

perkins was more effective than kaman. a big reason why the celtics lost to the lakers in the finals was that they didnt have the defensive post presence nor the amount of rebounds that perkins provided against a team with two good 7 footers down low.

If the knicks want to contend they need to get themselves someone who contain Dwight defensively. They also need that player to be a better rebounder than amare, and be able to provide a big body in the lane to deflect the driving games of lebron james and derrick rose.

if the knicks can find a player like that, one that will also not mind having all that many touches offensively, as well as making sure fields improves defensively, then they will have a squad to compete with the best of em.

I agree with you about Varejao as he would annoy the shit out of dwight, which it seems is a good tactic to use to bring down his quality of play. noah is unrealistic. id love to see andrew bogut next to amare, but thats a pipedream. Another tactic is too fill up your bench with some good defensive bench players to throw at guys, keeping them in rotation to tire out big men like dwight (not to mention pissing him off quite a bit).

JaVale McGee could help a bit, i dont really know his game so this could be a bad suggestion, but he averges 4th in blocks, if thats any indication, i know he's very athletic for his size which would fit well in ny's system. tyson chandler is another. marc gasol and marcin gortat are purhapse good fits, but again im not sure on them.

What are you talking about Akira? Dwight Howard is going to be in the West Coast playing for the Lakers.

One guy who defends Howard really well is Aaron Gray. He's one of the few centers who Howard can bulldoze through.

The Clippers have been trying to trade Kaman the last two seasons because of his expensive contract and his injury problems.

I highly doubt either McGee or Jordan are available. Kaman is much more expendable for the Clippers because of his age, injuries, and contract. Varejao is a much more realistic target and may help in terms of rebounding and defense to make up for Amare's deficiencies

Jordan would be a great investment: he's young, athletic, very talented, and he is exactly what we need at center. I doubt he's available though. Jordan is a restricted free agent, and any reasonable deal that we give him will be matched by the Clippers. I also like Nene too, but I don't know how we would get him.

Varejao is ok, but I'm neither a huge big fan of his game nor his contract.
