The Blazers have one remaining roster spot and Jarron Collins is on a 10 day contract. We thought that TJ Ford would get the last open spot, but he didn't get a buyout. Given that Patty's been playing better and there's always the option of Rudy or Brandon getting a few minutes at the point, I'd be surprised if the Blazers use the open spot to get another PG. They could really use another true PF. What options are out there? Also, it looks like Boston probably will let Chris Johnson go when his 10 day contract is up. Do you like him better than Collins?
I actually like what Collins brings as a backup. He fouls hard. He bangs and looks to make contact. He sets screens. He will only play a few minutes and use every one of his fouls to not let folks get easy buckets. Just don't expect too much of him and you won't be dissapointed.
get shooters who are actual shooters sadly the most confident in a 3 dropping is when mills shoots thats sad
Can whatever they do be used for the playoffs (Sorry MIXUM, if we make it, homer alert) at this point? If not - they might not be doing anything else.
For that last slot we need a practice player. Collins is just awful. I'd take a flier on Shawne Williams. Fuck. I just checked and he was signed by the Knicks. At this point, I'd go with Powe. He fits our knee injury culture like a glove.
Yes. The limitation is that players on existing contracts with another team have to be waived by March 1st @ midnight in order to be eligible. Free agents and D-Leaguers can be added at any time and still play in the playoffs.
Kerry Eggers said in one of his columns that Pendergraph might be ready to go by the playoffs. I haven't seen that anywhere else, but I'd like to see him get a shot if it's true.
Yea I know what you are saying, but we all pretty much know that playes who suffere knee injuries really don't start to hit their stride again until the season after the one they return. Joel was in that bucket. You could tell he was on his way to recovery but really wasn't there yet. The same with Zbo when he came back, he had a down year before he started playing better again.
I'd assume that Cho will keep his options open by signing guys to 10-day contracts until he sees what's out there prior to the playoffs.
i could sit here all day making per comments, comparing stats, evaluating players but at the end of the day im still gonna see that we arent meshing well, cant score and have a brutal schedule. those are clear as crystal if you arent a homer. translation = playoff chances arent good
^He we fucking go! So this road trip will decide the season? Like that upcoming schedule bullshit from a couple months ago! This shit is soooo old! So if we go 3-1, what does that mean......WCF! If we go 1-3 (like I think we will).......... are we lottery bound?
