I have a Mac, but a friend of mine is a PC guy. I use VUZE , he asked me what he should use. Any suggestions out there?
BitTorrent does not immediately mean that someone is stealing content. I will admit that is one of it's main uses though.
PeerBlock + BitTornado, although I hear that PeerBlock isn't as amazing as some would have us believe.
isoHunt is really good, you can find just about anything on there--and IIRC it is hosted outside of the US. uTorrent is the best P2P software, IMHO.
Yes. However uTorrent and similar programs are good because you can pick and choose the files you want to download. Don't download executables, compressed files, and unknown extensions. Oftentimes you'll find a film or w/e is packaged with other files--just pick the AVI or DIVX to download and not the others. You take your chances with software, etc. Read the comments for the torrents and avoid negatively rated files.
plus each file has a thread with a ton of comments. I usually read through a couple pages before I download a torrent.
I used Vuze for about two years mainly cause thats all I knew existed. My old roommate showed me Utorrent and it just ran a lot cleaner IMO. Just an easier basic interface. Vuze is a solid program though... unless a bunch has changed in the last few years since I changed.
If you can get an invite to Revolution TT you will be very happy. Unfortunately it's nearly impossible to get one because they like to keep the content private. It's entirely worth it though, as I can already tell you that The Adjustment Bureau is a pretty decent movie.
