I really haven't seen a lot of him, a few minutes when the T'Wolves played the Celts and he didn't look that impressive if I remember correctly. I could be wrong, but anyway his stats were 7.9 points 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists. He didn't have a lot of steals or blocks, he doesn't seem like a big defensive player. His percentages are pretty good, 45% FG and 37% 3PT as a rookie, not to shabby. But now he's going to be out 4-6 months, I just wanted to know, is this really going to hurt the T'Wolves that bad? I know Banks might be on his way out and they have a sketchy roster as it is, but is this the icing on the cake for Garnett's exit or is this just an unfortunate injury that won't have a profound effect on the Timberwolves next year?
Yes.He really didn't get that many minutes until Minnesota went into their "shutdown" mode at the end of the year. He then exploded. He had numerous twenty point games and showed a scoring attitude. He is a pure scorer when he has confidence, and if he had not had this surgery, he would go into next year fighting for a starting job.

I think that McCants has a real future in Minnesota. He looks like a scorer, something the T Wolves probably wouldn't mind having, and I think that he will continue to grow and florish in Minnesota.
His defense is coming along. He came into the NBA as a pure scorer and not really any defender in him. The number one priority last year was to up his defense. He is slowly progressing and should become a good defender. He can score at will, like said above. One game last season he had 30 points in one game. He came on in the end of the season not only because the Wolves were in shutdown mode but also because Coach Casey got more confidence in him plus Trenton Hassell wasn't put up many points, even though he is a great defender.
I predict McCants to be a future great if he can get a starting position. If they can keep Garnett in minnesota and mccants can heal to 100% they could be a sick combination. He was doing good at the end of the season and if it werent for the injury id expect him to begin where he left off and slowly fight for that starting position.
I think McCants could eventually be a Cuttino Mobley type player, good scorer and shooter but nothing great. But it was only his first year and he didn't get a lot of time.
