UPDATE: It's looking more and more that this will be the only season in Detroit for McGrady.

He had been playing well enough that he had started at point guard, but recently he has not gotten off the bench.

"The energy that the guys had in that Utah game, I wanted to stay with them and some of the other guys that had good practices during that time," head coach John Kuester told Booth Newspapers. "We cleaned the slate. We're trying to say, 'Hey, listen, bring it every day.' ... We've got to get better. Everybody's got to get better, and everybody's got to make that commitment."

McGrady reportedly is not happy with the demotion.

"Looks like I'm (a) day late and dollar short." he responded to a question on twitter.

When asked about finishing his career with the Bulls, he tweeted: "That would be a good look."

Tracy McGrady has played well enough this season that president of basketball operations Joe Dumars wants to re-sign him in the summer. McGrady has been relatively healthy this season and he could draw a lot of interest in the free agent market.

McGrady says he will wait until we get closer to July 1 before he makes a decision.

"It feels good that I've established myself as being a guy that they want in the future," McGrady told MLive.com. "It just feels good to feel wanted again. I really haven't even thought about what I'm going to do, but Joe has been nothing but great to me this whole season. I appreciate him giving me this opportunity. I'm forever grateful for it. I'll evaluate that when it's time, but I really haven't given it much thought."

McGrady has shown the ability to play point guard for the Pistons this season and that could make him a valuable commodity since he can also shift to shooting guard and small forward.

Not sure why he's not getting any PT anymore. He's been playing pretty well as the PG for them recently, and has a 3 to 1 assist to TO ratio, which is damn good. Makes no sense to me, but it just further proves that John Kuester might be the worst coach in the NBA (that, along with not playing a healthy Rip Hamilton for the better part of 2 months).

I'm hearing Rip's minutes have been cut for acting like a prima donna.
