"Despite improved symptoms in recent weeks from a concussion that has sidelined him all season, Avalanche winger Peter Mueller officially will not return for any of the remaining games. Mueller, who was acquired by the Avs late last season from Phoenix and put up 20 points in 15 games, will continue his rehabilitation with a focus on returning next season. Mueller had been skating on his own of late, but never practiced with the team. It is unclear how much he will skate in the final weeks of the season, or how much he is still affected by concussion symptoms. Mueller, per team policy, has been unavailable for comment since suffering the injury in the Avs' first preseason game last September against Los Angeles. There were elevated levels of optimism during the season that Mueller would return, but with the Avs playing out the string on a disappointing season, the decision was made to keep him out."
