Can you be more specific? Exactly who doesn't have a PhD?

Not as all. As I said, it was vague. I am sure that we shall soon learn the truth of this (potentially) deplorable situation. If the kids were performing well in college, it is unethical and unprofessional to take any action against them, simply because of their father's political views....IF that is what happened. I imagine the OSU Barometer will have some interesting - if poorly written and barely coherent - things to say about this tomorrow.

You're one warped guy. Will you just admit that you're a Democratic union member and get this over with?

Well, let us know what it says if you have access to it (or is the Barometer on the web? I never thought to wonder that before...)

Sorry, not a union member at present. I am a democrat, but that doesn't seem relevant here despite Art's paranoid rantings.
Besides, I didn't say that's what happened - I have no idea what (if anything) happened. I just pointed out that it is one possibility (among many).
I will say that in my experience engineers don't tend to be your more radical leftists, so I'm skeptical on that basis that the faculty of the nuclear engineering dept is taking action to punish these kids because their dad ran for congress and failed. Seems just a bit farfetched, but stranger things have happened, "Consultant".

Tells me all I need to know. Reaping the benefits, and not paying into the system.

You don't need to know anything, it seems, "Consultant", so I guess that's true.

I wasn't a union member long enough to get pension benefits (or if I was, I didn't know about it). And since it would sting me deeply if you were to call me a freeloader, I'm happy to report that it was a private sector union.

For what reason would they be kicked out? In his long diatribe, Robinson never throws us one hint as to OSU's official reason. If he has nothing to hide, why not give their side and argue with it?

He describes both kids as "four-year Ph.D. students." Usually it takes less time. Maybe they are lagging. That's about the maximum time to get that degree, and only if you have a full-time job.

The high GPAs he gives may include undergraduate years, and not be GPAs only for their graduate school courses. Their GPAs for grad school only may be at a failing level.

A department is controlled by its Chairman, who is a professor. Robinson writes,

I guess there is no update. Two of his kids apparently did finish their PhDs at OSU, so perhaps they worked it out.

I didn't know Art was supported by Robert Mercer, or rather, I didn't know at the time who Robert Mercer was.

You must never have attended an engineering class, a physics class or a chemistry class 'cause they were all tough. Okay, chemistry was easy the first term or maybe even the second term but not the third.
If you're talking about economics, yeah, that was pretty simple, all I had to do was spend about 15 minutes before class each day to get all the homework done. One of the easiest 'A's I ever got.
Also, German was a difficult class.

I remember solving an equation in a job interview at Tektronix that involved solution by simultaneous equation that mystified my eventual boss who expected the short cut Thevinin's Equivalent solution. He had never seen the simultaneous equation solution before. Did I need all the math at my job at Tek? No, unless you want to count the one time I had a calculate the power in a difficult voltage wave form using calculus. But I was ready if called upon.

Of course, Tektronix had their own Education and Training Department that was really good. They hired professors from Oregon State and the University of Portland for some of their classes.

Nope, my profs were really good. No one felt like they knew anything close to what our profs knew.

They've all had to have PhDs for a long time at OSU. Even the lab instructors are at least grad students.

They allowed profs with a Masters a long time ago.

Even PCC requires a Masters to teach.

Side Note: At one time the state of Oregon allowed anyone with a PhD to teach at any public school in the state. Now, they have to have training in education.
