Is that real grass? I thought I saw them painting the pitch the other day on their live cam of the stadium.
Wow that remodel sucks! Talk about crappy views for the press and sky boxes. It's still just a remodeled baseball stadium. I know these comments are going to piss a lot of you off but it's never going to be that nice of a facility. If soccer is a huge success here in Portland (which I firmly believe it will be) Paulsen is going to demand an entirely new facility within 5 years under threat of moving the team. The city of Portland is going to spend over $600 million on bicycle paths but couldn't cough up the extra $30mill to just build a new stadium?!?

lol - for what? If we had a team, however, why would the open side of the stadium look east? For the shot of Mt Hood? Hmm. And beyond that, OMSI is right smack dab in an industrial district. I suppose it would give the area a reason to develop. Interesting concept. Yet I can't help but wonder why this is even being discussed. An MLB team seems further from reality than ever right now.
The website seems to have it be for a minor league stadium, but able to be expanded to a MLB one if needed in the future. And I think almost all stadiums open to the east. I could be wrong. Similar, though, to how most NFL stadiums go N-S.
