im going to apologize beforehand if i affend anybody. hardcore mavs fan hurt badly tonight...only a few things in life are more important than any woman will ever be, and one of those things is sports. The desire and dedication and faith players and fans have towards their sport and teams. Im sorry but i lost a loved one tonight, and taht was the Mavericks. Now, I wish i were like most of you bandwagoning lets root the winning team on fans, but im not. Its not as easy for me as it is for you. You will go root the rangers on, or the diamondbacks, or the mets or brazil, or whatever sport team that seems to be winning at the time to give you, what you think is a valid excuse to get hammered and cheer more talented people than you will ever be. im talking to miami fans, and dallas fans you know who you are and you can taste my urine. Im sorry guys but this game was a low blow to the actual mavericks fan. It hurts now, it will hurt tomorrow, it will hurt next month, but more importantly it will hurt next regular and post season. When the fag bandwagonners follow another sport and jump back on in the post season only to watch dirk, and josh, and jason and whoever else make some dumbass mistake to give the series away. I mean can we beat the spurs again??can we beat phoenix again after they get amare back? can we beat miami, i would say again but.. can we beat detroit if they play like they are capable of? Or... we will lose once again when we were soooo close... year after year... soooo close... my girl compared me loving the mavericks to recycling. i guess shes trying to make me feel better?! I wish i could recycle a dirk for a dwayne. that might help? recycling, at least shes trying. Theres no promising words that you fakers can tell me that will make me feel any better about this defeat. I mean its one thing to root your 22 chromosome kid on, but its another thing to be so oblivious to realize your retarded kid has one less chromo then the rest of the nation. The Mavericks, One Chromosome from a Championship.Im sorry if i offended any of you popping more tards than a toaster oven. actually im not sorry, i could care less, thats nature. Its gunna happen. and the mavericks losing every f*cking season is going to happen as well. Its almost better to be a mavs fan when they are EXPECTED to lose. So much easier and less agravating and time consuming. F*ck it, F*ck you, F*ck Dirk, and more importantly, F*ck myself for believing in a hopeless dream. The bitter reality kicks in that I should have adhered to long ago. Props to Dwayne Wade, you are the sh*t, you are the best player in the nba. You deserve every ring taht is given to miami for this championship, i dont think you have enough fingers for htat, but most black people never have enough jewelry anyways.I think im inadvertently trying to offend everyone else because im offended. My faith is offended, my beliefs and desire of basketball is offended. I will remain a mavericks fan until the end of next season. You have one shot to keep me as a devoted fan.the thousands of dollars spent, the thousands of hours spent, the anticipation hope desire faith spent. One shot. I will accept nothing other than a championship. Anything else and im out. No more bball for me. Ive all ready given up on baseball because the rangers are just as f*cking stupid as the mavericks seem to be. my two fav. sports growing up... Well in conclusion, I dont know what sport will take my heart, but there will be one. and that sport will ultimately mean more to me than you will. friend foe lover, whoever reads this. I dont pretend or hide my feelings like most of us perfect specimens of a human being do. I tell it how it is, you can like it or hate it, but at least its the truth... Seems like we as a society have forgotten what that is.Pauls Predictions got raped the past 4 games, but so did the mavs, and my heart, and my wallet, and my faith. My last prediction was if we lose, cuban is out... our highest paid mavericks fan, and whats to follow suit?? perhaps some of you slightly less paid fans?? back to the drawing board. This time instead of drawing a way to a championship ring, it will be drawing a way to milk every last fan for every penny they can get until you ignorant mother fuckers realize thats all it is. Dallas Pro teams milking us fans and giving us subpar performing teams.I will not be jumping on the miami/san antonio/Houston band wagon but watch, half you fuckers i talk to on a consistent basis, when Tmac comes back strong and Houston is in the finals, you will be the biggest baddest houston fan that ever walked the planet, and i will be crying about dallas being upset again because i have the 22 chromo kid that i have to put my heart towards cuz i feel bad cuz he chases his tail after he poos in the back yard. Its sad but cute at the same time.i posted this earlier on myspace, and had to hear what some actual fans had to say, my friends bandwagon for the most part a few true ones here and there, if youre a miami fan feel free to respond too... nothin but respect deep down but its just hard for me right now.
The word bandwagon has to be the most used word in this past week. Anyways, I can tell this post was pretty truthful and nothing else and it seems you are pretty mad at your team here. You know, watching the Mavericks throughout this season I felt they will win it all, still showing respect for my hometown team I kinda had that gut feeling that they would, especially entering the playoffs. As a Miami fan I feel amazing right now considering we have never won a championship before but on the same not neither has Dallas. Dirk had such a melt down with his shooting, I thought he would rise to the occasion and step it up like he was meant to do, but guess not.Dallas can still give it a run for next year, they have a VERY young team, there only real tasks are re-signing Jason Terry and there set. They have a solid young core in Dirk, Howard and Harris which I expect to make a push for a championship as well as for next year. For the most part, even when everyone said Dallas matched up better against Miami and what not I still stayed faithful to my team and predicted them to take the series in 6, rightfully so. I know I can't understand your anger since I'm pretty happy right now but I know it's tough wasting your money and time for a team to let you down like that.
Just wondering heatfan, how long have you been going for the heat? [ps, i'm not calling you a bandwagon fan or anything].
all right not a thread to comment on whether or not hes a miami fan, reply to the topic or dont bother, im going to sleep either way
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BrokenHeart3441 @ Jun 21 2006, 02:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>i posted this earlier on myspace</div>Haha, that's all you had to say, really.Seriously, dude. Your faith? Come on. I love the Mavs, but you speak like you thought Dirk was your Jesus who then betrayed you. It's not that bad. The Mavs will be in it again next year, no worries. I don't think Houston will even come close to a title for quite a few years. Amare could be a problem, but let's wait until that hurdle actually shows up before we try to jump it. It's a learning experience that all teams have to go through. As someone said tonight on the tube (I don't remember whom), pretty much every team has to go through it... the Spurs, Celtics, Lakers, etc. The Heat were lucky that they didn't. Comparing the Mavericks to a down syndrome child is just immature. This team has done a lot in the last six years, and they will do a lot more in the next six years. The Rangers on the other hand, I can relate to. They have been crummy for a while and will hopefully actually do something this year, but probably won't. Just don't have the doom and gloom attitude. Until Avery, Dirk, Josh, and JET are gone, the Mavs will be going uphill.
actually if you read the entire sentence that you quoted, i posted this on myspace, but was wanting to hear from ACTUAL fans of the mavericks and the NBA and NOT bandwagonners, now from your response i can tell you are an actual fan, which is what i asked for. You know the feeling from the Rangers, and deep down you feel that same feeling now. End of story, what can the mavericks do other than WIN next year to keep your faith? Will losing to a worse team keep you going? I do not think that Houston will go to the finals too, but my local dallas bandwagonners will of course jump on the closest team to them that may hit the finals, hence to comment. Houston blows, we are better thats a given. We are better than Miami thats a given, but its not raw talent as a whole. As the finals dictated, the best player on the court won. And the second best player looked like a noob donkey. Dirk? yes DIRK. I cannot sleep and broke my jenny craig dont eat fast food diet because of the fag magricks. whatever, i appreciate your comments and respect them but look outside the box, if you lost your faith in the rangers, is it possible the mavs follow the same route? I dont care about the Stars, but didnt they choke? It just sucks. I wish i was a pretenda sports fan but im not. Im not.
WHo could be offended by what u got to say man, that sh*t is true. From a Knicks fan basis. I am a knicks fan mainly a supersonic fan... but i don't spend my dough on those teams.. mainly on sonics related stuff but the knicks don't deserve a dime until they prove something. And what u said about blacks could be a turn off to most and i'm black, but it's true. In my opinion, I think jewelry is for woman so i don't like to wear it.Bandwagoners are fckin crazy, knicks lose and nets start to win, so fans become nets fans all of a sudden. There were never this many nets fans. The mavs appear to be the next knicks if next year tends to be just make a playoff year. Don't milk your wallet on them, A lot of teams can be known as False Advertisement. And Bandwagoners support it to the fullest until the so called next big ad pops up and fails in the long run.

[ps, i'm not calling you a bandwagon fan or anything].</div>Since the 1999 season when I started getting into the NBA. Back on topic here, it was a pretty sad ending for Dallas, especially the fact that they lost at home. Like I said before though, Dallas has a good young core and can make a run for a championship next year as well. Amare will be questionable, Tim Thomas is going to be leaving Phoenix to, while Miami is going to have there hands busy with the off-season. I don't see Houston making a championship run either, even with a health Tracy and healthy Yao they can't make it past the first round. About the local bandwagon fans, they will be everywhere and you just have to ignore them, half of those people don't know the first thing about basketball probably.
OH MY GOD, DIRK HAD HIS FIRST BAD SERIES OF THESE PLAYOFFS AFTER CARRYING THIS TEAM TO THE FINALS! SO SAD! LET'S TRADE HIM FOR WADE!Sheesh. The Mavs'll be fine. We weren't supposed to get here anyway. Dirk was bound to have a letdown eventually, anyway. Next year he'll be MVP and at least take us to the Western Conference Finals. Maybe then the rest of our young team will have matured enough to pick up the rest of the slack like the Heat's role players did when they needed to.Wow, the Dallas sports teams are so bad! The Cowboys have only been to 9 Super Bowls! The Stars haven't been to the Stanley Cup Finals for... oh my! Six years! Someone call 911! The Mavs just had their best season in franchise history!Seriously, don't worry about it. We'll be fine.
This year really gave me a lot of faith into next year. I mean just like Suns, Spurs, Pistons, and Heat, I don't see anyway Mavs downgrade next year. We still be up there with the elite and have another shot at it again. I already posted in the Mavs board, hearing people already say this was our only shot and were done, that's some bullsh** because no one expected us to be there this year and we did. So again, I'll take all the doubters and just see what happens next year. P.S. No one can put the series on Dirk because Miami like Dallas did with Shaq, doubled him every time he had the ball, forcing him to pass. Not only did he pass and try to get others involved, he still put up his average numbers. The missing piece is that 2nd player needed to step up like Heat had Wade do. Were going have to look at Howard or Terry for that, but I think we might have to look at free agents also, ie. Bonzi Wells is someone I'm eyeing right now.
Nah, Bonzi Wells is this year's Jerome James. Stack is better than him. Josh just needs another year to mature. (I hope.) That or we need to hope to God that the Bucks do crappy again and maybe we can make a deadline deal for Redd.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Nah, Bonzi Wells is this year's Jerome James. Stack is better than him. Josh just needs another year to mature. (I hope.) That or we need to hope to God that the Bucks do crappy again and maybe we can make a deadline deal for Redd.</div> Bonzi has played well before his stint with the Kings. He just didn't come out of nowhere and have a great playoff run like Jerome James did. You can't compare him to that loser. Also, how is Stack better? Bonzi defends better, rebounds better, has better 3pt range, and takes better shots. Count in Stack is getting older and he's done with the Mavs after this upcoming season(contract is done). This offseason, we need to look at a potential Stack replacement and a better sg. A platoon of Stack, Griff, Daniels is not going to cut it long.
Dunno, just never really liked Bonzi. I think Stack is a great fit for this team with his toughness and grit, but Wells... he's got the tools, but I'm just not sure if he'd fit. I think we could make it work, but it depends how much he wants.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BrokenHeart3441 @ Jun 21 2006, 04:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>whatever, i appreciate your comments and respect them but look outside the box, if you lost your faith in the rangers, is it possible the mavs follow the same route?</div>No, I don't think it will be the same. First of all, the Mavs have a much better owner in Mark Cuban. He is emotional about things to say the least, but he knows what's going on in the game. He will keep fighting until we win. As for the Rangers, it's really tough for them. I mean, they play in a hitter's park and they've never really had good pitching. There's two spots available for them to get into the playoffs, and one of them is probably going to get taken by the White Sox or Red Sox. They still have passion, but it's not the same as it was when there was Rusty, Dean Palmer, Pudge, Juan before he turned greedy, etc. That doesn't mean they won't ever win the series. It's probably just different for me, because those guys are like legends to me. Anyway, Dallas sports aren't that bad off. They're better than Houston or San Antone's, that's for sure. I mean, come on. The Texans picked Williams? HAHAHA.Dirk will be back, and he will have learned from this series. And when that happens, we will win. It's as simple as that.Wade will fade like Ginobili did, mark my words.Bonzi would be a fantastic addition. I really do think he's better than Stack. Stack does some great stuff, but it's streaky, which is what we need to get away from. If anything killed the Mavericks this year, it was being streaky. We need a workhorse, and Wells would be fantastic. (I can't believe I'm saying this after remembering past Kings-Mavs series, but it's true.)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Lakaboy42 @ Jun 21 2006, 01:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Losing repeatedly makes winning that much sweeter.</div>That's what I was thinking. Michael couldn't get past the Pistons for three straight years in the playoffs and once he finally did they went on to win 6 championships. Just because Dirk had a bad series...atleast for someone of his caliber...doesn't mean the whole franchize is lost. I mean they made it to the Finals and had a 60 win season.
What we need more than anything is some offense from the center position, but that's really hard to find. But Diop HAS to be better next year... doesn't he?I think it's funny how all of the "experts" at ESPN say that the Mavs have lost their shot and that they're mentally frail. Um... Dirk was lambasted as a bust his rookie year before becoming Comeback Player of the Year. Stack and Avery are as tough as they come. Yeah. Mentally frail. That's right. They only beat the Spurs and the Suns to get here. Yeah. Right.
Analysts are generally pretty fickle and have a pretty poor memory. Man, Barkley flip-flopped so much during the Spurs-Mavs and Suns-Mavs, my head was spinning. ESPN is the same as the NBA, they just say whatever it takes to get ratings (read as: $).
Mavs will be back next year better than this year. Harris and Howard will take their game to the next level and Diop will get stronger. The starting 5 is extremely young and should be unbelieveable next. Avery needs to start Harris to get his confidence high for the playoffs next year.
You need a number 2 player to step up, josh or terry? What games were you watching Jason Terry came up huge! Dont make me pull the numbers up but how many points did Dirk get in the last quarter of game 6? Hell while youre at it, check out those other games we lost in Miami. Its pathetic. And this isnt the first time hes done it. The eastern conference commentators, im sorry, but they are right. We are a mentally frail team. The only positive is we are young, and we can build these key players that we all thought were gunna wina championship. Maybe not at the beginning of the season, even tho i placed a 15:1 on the mavs to do it, but halfway through the season you guys cant tell me you were thinking about winning the championship. Seems to me Dirk planned on settling for 2nd. I dont give a rats ass if they put the double team on him, it all goes back to show that when we try to put the double, im sorry triple/quadruple team on Dwayne and he still shoots lights out. You cant build a championship winning franchise around a guy that is going to buckle when the times get tough and the double team gets in his face. After beating San Antonio and Phoenix, you're telling me we are going to the finals again next year? Im sorry but i saw a lot of promising players/teams this year and the past few years. The NBA is getting stacked. So much talent around, that the only teams getting to the championship or winning it are going to be teams that know how to step up. Mavs stepped down, off the pedestal. Its no lie to say Dirk is going to have a bad game from time to time, but not during NBA Finals, thats just unnacceptable. His performances in games 3,4 and 5 and even hell game 6 ill say it. You dont show up on the court for the first 3 quarters when the season is on the line and not score a damn basket. You just dont. When in trouble the superstars still know how to put up numbers. So i guess that means dirk isnt a superstar, hes a has been, much like his number one fan david hasselhoff. This isnt the first year he has choked. I know he gets better every year it seems and he will come out strong next year too, but so will other teams. And that seed of doubt that was planted in everyones heads around game 4 maybe after game 3 for some of you, its not a seed anymore.. its a healthy plant growing and growing, and trust me, next post season that seed that was planted and sprouted will still be there. And its not just you, its every mavericks PLAYER as well...Thats what lost the series... The doubt.Did dwayne doubt he was going to lose after going down 0-2 hell no!Dwayne came to game 3-6 with all intentions of winningDirk came to game 3-6 with all intentions of letting Dwayne winthat mentality doesnt do anything but produce a Boston Red Sox like organization of the past. before the championship of course. So i guess we have 50 years of a contending mavericks team until we see the ring. Theres no proof saying that wont happen. Lets just look at the facts.Cuban complained saying we always play the finals before the actual finals... Sorry cuban, you were obviously wrong, cuz we lost to miami, and not san antonio. We lose 4 games ina row in the finals, and i got people telling me we got the team to win next year. Im sorry, we dont. Our only hope is Avery Johnson. Can he instill post season confidence in our star player, Dirk? Or will Dirk go to the line and miss that shot, or will good defense and pressure make him play weak ball and not try to get to the basket. Pass the ball, or put up a flailing fade away jump shot.
