The official WWE website has announced The Undertaker vs. Triple H at WrestleMania XXVII. Some backstory for the match has already been announced, as well. Part of the article reads: "Not only did The Phenom defeat HBK two WrestleManias in a row, he ended the man's career. A fact certainly not lost on Michaels' close friend, Triple H, who may well use the misfortune as a motivator." Source: WrestlingNewsWorld
I can't wait for this match. I'll also be shocked if it isn't the main event this year, because it's far bigger than Miz vs. Cena and Edge vs. ADR.
Championship matches arent the auto main events anymore? Thank Goodness!! When I see the Miz guy on TV I just cant imagine him headlining something like Wrestlemania... this makes me feel much much better lol.
They generally are, but WWE has somewhat strayed away from that over the past year. Last years 'Mania had Michaels vs. Undertaker as the main event and TLC had Wade Barrett vs. John Cena as the main event.
All i have to say is if Triple H can't end the streak then no one can lol. That said i'm rooting for Triple H.
Agreed on that one. However, I'm rooting for 'Taker because I don't want to see the streak end. I'm also relatively sure 'Taker will have a say in the outcome, and I doubt he wants to see it end either.
You make a good point Big Frame lol. Not to mentiont the fact that Triple H is a top executive now with his own office and everything.
Despite all this, the big stars will always have some say over creative decisions involving them, and I can't imagine that Mark Callaway wants to see his character's streak come to an end. That being said, Triple H obviously has some say in it since he is an exec with the company now, and is banging Steph McMahon, lol. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, because the Undertaker is arguably one of the top 5 stars the industry has ever seen, and I think it'd almost be disrespectful to his character to see that streak come to an end.
One last thing to put out there, Triple H, from what I've read, does want to retire (and 'Taker has talked about it too), so if this is another 'Streak vs. Career' match, I wouldn't be shocked if Trips loses so he can hang it up.
I'd be pretty disapointed it Triple H was to retire honestly. But this would contradict some of his latest interviews where he basically says that he plans on wrestling for a couple more years before retiring.
