I think this was a good move for the Knicks firing Larry Brown. This knicks team needs a coach that will give them lots of freedom, the ability get out into the open court and run, have their men run isolations. Larry Brown likes to coach a controlled team that slows the game down, and passes alot more to find the open man. It will be way to hard to get rid of these players and bring in the players Larry Brown needs to be an effective coach, because of the money owed and reputation of the players. So the best thing to do in my eyes, is fire Brown and bring in a coach that will allow these guys to play their way of basketball.
Larry wasn't going anywhere with the Knicks, but Isiah coaching could be just as bad. Maybe if he can teach Nate to be more of a Point Guard, they could improve, but we all know Larry couldn't stay in NY.Larry is done coaching. He's already in the HOF, he has a title, and he is done. But he will always be remembered for his horrendous season in New York.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Thomas a solid coach for the Pacers a few years back. I think this is a great move. They get rid of a terrible coach and a terrible GM with one move.
One thing for sure from this is he's available... The Kings might regret signing Eric Musselman too early. Bobcats might be a good fit... if they really land Larry woww !! Some teams may also quickly fire coaches to court him... Celtics, Sixers, Warriors, Cavs, Wolves.. are my top 5 candidates for his next destination.

Isiah Thomas will only be 100x worse. This guy should of been fired as the GM and Brown should of stayed.

Felton would be a solid point guard that will listen, and Brown can teach him the way Brown wants him to play. He will have a solid defensive team to teach, with Okafor anchoring it for him, and Wallace being the one he gives the tough perimter defensive assignments to. This team would be a good team for slowing down the pace of the game and moving the ball around on offense. I really like that idea.
Brown is a great coach, but i think its time for him to just stop. Hes made enough money and has done a great job with many people. His health is going to be a question, even though they say that its cleared up, it can come back at anytime. He should step away from the game and enjoy his life now.

Look at this... This is what Larry Brown has gotten this year. $12 Million from the 76ers $7 Million from the Pistons $12 Million from the Knicks Not to mention $30 Million for the rest of his Knicks contract Unbelieveable.
Underacheiving? His first year there the Pacers lost alot from the year before, Marc Jackson, Chris Mullins, Rik Smits, Dale Davis and was in a "rebuilding" year and still managed to take them to the NBA playoffs. They lost in the first round to the Sixers who ended up going to the finals. Isaih in his time at Indiana also proved to be very good at scouting and developing young talent as a coach. Jermaine O'neal, Jamaal Tinsley, Brad Miller, and others got their breaks and starts with the Pacers and Isiah Thomas. He was the one that gave them the minutes to break into the league and prove what they can do.
This is horrible! Thomas as GM and Coach? Well, the Knicks really need to have a makeover done and just completely redo there roster and staff.
