Good point. Atlanta has been a horrible matchup for us the last few years, and most people will expect them to get rolled . . . which in the world of Blazerland means there's a good chance they WILL win.

Bench him at the end of games and make him watch how Rudy does it.

They've had the Blazers' number for sure lately but they're about to be on a 4-game losing streak and are back to playing bad ball again. They've lost their last 3 at home. Both teams are on a b2b but the Blazers will actually get to Atlanta before the Hawks will.

Both teams are going to want this one and I'm sure it will come down to the final minutes. It's a good thing the Blazers actually have a productive bench and I can see that being the deciding factor.

I can definitely see the Blazers getting a win tomorrow.

I almost get embarrassed for them, and then we have a mod named Nikolo or something like that flat-out quit the board tonight after the game.

It's just so hilarious when you step back and view it all from a distance.

Where's everyone who said Jackson back isn't a big deal?

...or quit the board, come back with a different screename and act like you didn't when everybody calls you out for it.

I know what I'd rather be guilty of.

I had a serious threat from a now-banned poster and took some time off from the board. Somebody who is in now allegedly in jail, and somebody who started a thread where he bragged about pulling over his car berating a homeless guy while that somebody's small son sat there and witnessed it. I still hope that poster never went after Grant at PapaG's, but I guess I'll never know.

That said, if those PMs came from a harmless and snide poster like you, it wouldn't have bothered me. You're at least sane, although you've been very whiny lately to the mods.

Where's everyone who thinks the issue was Jackson's game as opposed to the Blazers' lack of one that made the difference?

Honestly, I'm not at all embarrassed or ashamed of banning this account, taking some time off, and having my attorney research the guy to see if he was serious. I know more about him than I care to admit.

Honestly, I always thought you leaving had more to do with the whole air-soft gun thing and everyone making fun of you about it.

I'm sorry, but as a grown ass dude. If some chump, Vanilla Ice wannabe like Ben Davis is talking smack to me in PM's its no skin off my back. Dipping out and denying it, let alone getting an attorney involved seems like going to the extreme.

If it was just me, I wouldn't mind and would laugh it off. I have two small kids, though, and since I've literally been threatened one time like that in any medium, my wife and I decided that we should take it seriously. Things get more complicated when you have more responsibilities.

The best part of the BenDavis503 thing was that Denny Crane basically blamed it on me. The PM chains on that one are just odd, and make me question Denny's own judgement. :)

People wonder why he won't do anything about MIXUM? Well, I have proof that the MIXUM stuff is small potatoes.

in fairness to Nik. He had been talking about it for days prior to the game. Not that Nik needs defending, but him stepping away was not because of the Bobcats.

I agree. If I left that impression, I didn't mean it. My thought is that modding and being overly negative wouldn't make it much fun to post here. I'm glad he has the self-awareness to step back and regain perspective on what a message board should be about, which is babes, beer, and Blazer basketball

People enjoy discussing the team and they're willing to put up with a little bit of grief to do it. This is as large of a group of Blazer fans as is on the web. Following a sports team is supposed to be a diversion. When it stops being fun, there's nothing wrong with stepping away for a while. Not everyone can slough off little pokes as well as you can.

The question we should all ask ourselves is why people find the hassle of this place is outweighing the joy talking Blazers brings.
