Gherardini becomes the first European to hold a senior management position with an NBA franchise. ?We are thrilled to have a globally esteemed basketball executive like Maurizio Gherardini join the Toronto Raptors ,? said Bryan Colangelo, president and general manager of the Raptors. ?This is a ground breaking move for the league, appropriately with the NBA?s only true international franchise.?</div>Link

I think this is an excellent pick up for the raptors. Now they are more connected in the basketball world do to Gherardini connections. This move trully makes the raptors an international teams even tho they are in Canada but i'm talking about personel within the organization.

Yeah this is awesome news. I heard Gherardini is well-respected in Europe, meaning international players could be more attracted to come to TO.

Do you guys think this signals the picking of Andrea Bargnani or so you think they are completely different because you have to think that Maurizio Gherardini will want Bargnani.
