Re: Terry wanting to stay! Good for Mavs. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>MSN.com - Jason Terry is a free agent this summer and whether or not he is re-signed will be the biggest decision the Mavericks make in the off-season. ?We?re going to do everything in our power to get back to this level,? he said. ?It?s very disappointing right now, but we still believe in each other and believe in the system. ... I?m looking forward to next season and trying to get back to the same level with the same group of guys. "I?d love to be right back here.?</div>Link
Re: Terry wanting to stay! Good for Mavs. Words don't mean nothing, everyone though Nash was a lock that summer and he left first day of free agency. Money talks, and Terry will walk if he gets overpaid. 5 year, 50-60 mil is enough.
Re: Terry wanting to stay! Good for Mavs. If someone's willing to pay him that money they can have him. He's a streak shooter and an important part of our team, but I've got no problem letting Daniels have more time as the sixth man and putting Stackhouse as the SG. We'd have to get a PG to back up Harris, though.I know a sportswriter for the Dallas Morning News that covers the Mavs a good deal and he says that after spending so much time in Atlanta Terry really wants to stay in Dallas and that the Mavs really want to resign him, so I think the chances are good that we'll get him back.
Re: Terry wanting to stay! Good for Mavs. I'm sorry but the mavs won't be able to get to the championship with Harris at point guard and Stackhouse at SG. We saw how San Antonio guarded us in game 6 in the playoffs by forcing us to shoot from the outside and packing it in to stop penetration. Even with Terry the mavs struggle with outside shooting so the mavs need for outside shooting is very important as enables Harris and Howard to penetrate easier.

And that's what the topic is about.
Re: Terry wanting to stay! Good for Mavs. There isn't a better option available to Terry. Cassell isn't as quick on getting the shot off. Dallas should add on a 3 point shooter along with Terry. I don't know where this leaves Stackhouse and Daniels but to me neither fit well on Dallas and to their needs. Daniels can backup Howard since they are similar player.
Re: Terry wanting to stay! Good for Mavs. I think Daniels is our bait for a good shooter. Stack needs to stay just because this team needs to play next year angry and with a chip on its shoulder, and Stack embodies that attitude. They need his scoring off the bench if they want to take another run at it.Terry had a 3-year, 24 million deal, so I can see that getting upped to 3 and 27. I don't know how high Cuban will go, though, and how long.

I don't care if there aren't other options aren't there. Because there was obviously no other Nash free agency options and he let him go. Terry can be replaced with a trade just like we did with Nash. But I'm pretty sure Terry will take a reasonable deal and not be a greedy bi*ch. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Terry had a 3-year, 24 million deal, so I can see that getting upped to 3 and 27. Just like Cubes is letting Van Horn expire without trading his contract. So expect Stack for another year, especially with Avery being a fan of his. This goes back to the whole Daniels has value and can be used in a trade. Not only can this help the Mavs, but Daniels as well, as he's not getting much of anything here.
