Still remaining in this thread are more than one calling-out of Mixum's true first name. But I think he would say you should leave them, so readers can trace one thing that ticked him off. Deleting his name would whitewash the thread against him, not for him. I agree. It's ironic that when he finally got expelled, it wasn't for a thread he started, or even for a conflict he started. It was in a thread in which several people took it for granted that 4 moderators were quitting because of him, until I asked them to confirm or deny, and they all denied. He defended himself meekly at first, but seemed to get set off by Maxiep calling him by his first name. The campaign that seems to have built up in the last couple of weeks was apparently waiting for the right place, but if he had to go, this thread provided weak reasons. I'm even more trollish than him. Of all posts I have ever started, zero have been basketball-related. Check them out.
Wow, so let's see... The people who are against the Mixum ban is PapaG and Jlprk... I'm shocked. Shocked.
Kiss_My_Darius and TheSebastianExpress also seem to be in the "why??" camp. If you can't read the thread, then why are you still a mod? I thought you "stepped down". Are you reconsidering? If so, you should expect things to intensify from this point on, right? As I read it, it would be a NateBishop is still a mod vs. banning MIXUM. I think MIXUM adds more value and entertainment to the board, so let's see how this one ends. So ... are you "Stepping Down"? Or, was this thread soley to call attention to yourself, and to get MIXUM banned as a result of the Look At Me thread? Did a moderator troll the board with a self-righteous thread, announcing his own demotion, and then keep the title after strong-arming Denny to act on a single poster? Is NateBishop the Hap/Dan of S2? I have to say, this development does surprise me.
Oh, please make no mistake. I think mixum being banned is a good thing, because I do not think he was in most ways genuine in his reasons for being here. I do not think it makes it acceptable to use anyone's given name less they give consent, however. Regardless of how intentionally destructive disruptive someone is at times. Though, it wasn't very hard to ignore him once I told myself to do so.
9.0 earthquake, 33 ft. tsunami, exploding nuke plants in Japan: 164 posts. NateBishop resigns, MIXUM banned: 206 posts. Oh, the humanity! barfo
Oh god... get over yourself. I made a similar post in the moderator forum so it's not like I did this to get my way. I never made any ultimatums about Mixum and he didn't have to post what he did. I'm merely waiting for my resignation to take affect. I can't do it myself.
I love me some Papa G - and that dude was banned for a while. Here's a perfect comparison to show how big a douche Mix is. Papa G - he only argues for the sake of arguing. If I remember correctly, there was a day he was "bored" at work and admitted that he was here "picking fights" in order to keep his mind firing on all cylinders. He wasn't mentally stimulated enough. See - I respect that. At least he was honest with his intentions. It's all about intentions, people. If you're transparent, and an asshole, you should be more than welcome here. If you're just an asshole to be an asshole - fuck yourself.
The way I see it, most of those people either didn't care that he was banned or were curious why he was banned... not opposed.
Don't worry, I already expected the two of them to make noise about this. I'm still waiting on Maris and the trifecta will be complete.
Here's the thing. You want to harass someone because they're a 'dickhead', then you're as much as a dickhead. Except in this case, for all his dickheadedness, Mixum never crossed the line of addressing any of these people in this forum as their real identity, to my knowledge, unless it was in their username. That whole he tugged on my hair so I'm going to tug back because he made me do it because he was an ass was okay when you know, we were idiots in elementary school and junior high. We're not now, though. We're adults. We must accept responsibility for our actions. If we do something which is a an asshole move, we can't blame the other person. It was their choice to be a dickhead, just as much as it is our choice to respond and be dickheads in return. Mixum was disruptive to the forum, but if I were to get into an argument with him I would not fear him finding my name on the internet and using it in retaliation.
Again, this is BS. Mixum and all his nonsense is disrespected in every thread. He starts dumb threads, but that shouldn't be the go ahead for anyone to disrespect him like most do. To me this seems more like another double standard in the forums. NUmbers 2 and 4 are violated by most psters in a Mixum thread, or any thread for that matter not pro Blazers.
Several posters were saying that Mixum had caused the 4 moderators to leave, so I put it to the former mods. ... 20 posts in this thread from Natebishop3 infer that yes, that's the main reason for him. The results are in...Mixum caused 1 of the 4 to leave.
It is a Blazers basketball forum. I mean in fairness, there probably aren't any posts abut Mixum or Nate on CNN or Fox coverage of the Japan disaster?
Those feelings mean that those people don't oppose Mixum enough to want him banned. I didn't include the quarter-to-third of posters in this thread who carefully avoided taking sides. Only about half the posters said they wanted Mixum banned, a third were carefully neutral (and thus probably don't want him banned, otherwise they'd say so when talking in a thread that is about banning him), and lastly the ones I listed, about a fifth, questioned it. The point is that it would not be true to assume that all posters in this thread other than those in my list want him banned. This post creates an illusion is that Professional Fan is one of those people in my list that NateBishop refers to, as either not caring or being curious. But he's not in the list in my post.
No. The main reason I left was because of policy. Mixum was one symptom of what's wrong with the policy, in my opinion. He was not the only poster that broke the rules as they were and should be punished.
