Stanley Cup-winning coach Bob Hartley has been appointed coach of the Zurich Lions. The Swiss club says the 50-year-old Canadian has agreed to a two-year contract. Hartley led the Colorado Avalanche to the Stanley Cup in 2001 during a four-year run in Denver. He also coached the Atlanta Thrashers from 2003-07.
