I mean what does it matter if he starts or not? Why does he need to be labeled a starter, playing 15-20 minutes a game? Why would it matter to Nate just to tell Batum "Hey Wallace is going to start over you"? These things really don't make any sense. If our coach is hired to massage the delicate egos of players, than why not hire psychologists to coach this team? I have trust in Nate, but sometimes he makes seriously questionable changes. Things that make absolutely no sense. Okay, Camby is hurt, blah blah blah. So instead of keeping Camby on the floor, we would rather put him on the bench and start Wallace at PF? ARG!!!!!

I guess you mean "self-esteem." Every player wants to start, and they often get their feelings hurt when they don't. That's just the way it is. As for holding Camby out, how do you know that's not the right call?
Remember that Batum starting was Roy's idea way back when. It may be that he blossomed from the attention and positive vibes coming from El Capitan's endorsement. I do think he's insecure about his position with the team, because he is streaky and knows it. Moving him to the bench right now to start Wallace wouldn't affect his confidence as much as moving him to start Matthews did; Wallace is established and a natural SF. If we want to start Wallace, we should be able to do so now without hurting his feelings much. And yes, he probably should "nut up" or whatever and take it; remember that he's the youngest Blazer rotation player, and is still affected by things like a "demotion". So it is important to be careful.
Did I miss the memo? Who said Batum needs to be "labeled a starter?" Who said Nate is massaging Batum's "delicate ego," or that Batum even has a "delicate ego?" Can you post a link so I can get caught up? As far as starting Wallace at PF and moving LaMarcus to Center, I'm all for it. Camby has not been playing well, his minutes are limited, and I did see a news flash that his knee was bothering him. Oh, yeah: And G Wallace is a stud.
To start Wallace, McMillan took out Camby instead of Batum. You assume the reason is astteem. Why do you think it's asteam? I don't think it's asstteam.
