A team full of youngsters and rookies, with the only stars being Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera. The rookies have established so much together, putting together a 30-37 year, just seven wins short of .500. Jeremy Hermida, Hanley Ramirez, Reggie Abercrombe, Dan Uggla, and Mike Jacobs have really helped Florida overachieve. They won't make the playoffs, but in a few seasons, Florida will be contenders again, thats a fact.Respect the Marlins, who did something right, and are headed for the third title in their short franchise history.
I'm shocked actually, I thought theyd win 30 games sometime in late august, not June. O well, they're not a threat but they def. overachieve
I knew we wouldnt be the worst team in the league but the way they have played as of late has really surprised me. I have and will always be a fan of this team and it hurt when we traded all our good players away but it seems to have payed off!
The BBW preseason poll had the Marlins as the definate worst team in the league, but they are playing amazing considering the talent they got.
They certainly are doing better than Atlanta...I wouldn't have expected them to be the bottom of the barrell, but they are doing alright (the Marlins).
I will admit, i wasn't expecting much from the Marlins this year after the off season fire sale. I knew Willingham and Cabrera would be pretty good, but i didn't get to see the rest of the team so much. Then after about five games of watching i realized that this was good talent, young and inexperienced, but good talent. They kept loosing in one run games, most of those were one run games that they blew the lead in the finals innings. Once they learn to stop blowing the lead late in games on stupid plays like wild pitches, errors, and playing not to loose the game, this team will be back in the thick of things in the NL wild card picture. That will be next year though, probably not this year. Hanley Ramirez is definately my favorite, that guy is awesome at the plate, a better leadoff batter than Pierre was which is surprising. He gets on base more, is more patient at the plate(he views more pitches, which your leadoff batter is supposed to do,) and is a decent base runner.) This guy should be an all-star for a few years in the future.
