While I agree that he should be suspended, he at least did it in context of a play, not just running down and nailing a player that isn't even involved in the play.

That's a bad foul. Obviously no intent for the ball. Beasley's lucky he didn't hurt his hip, or worse fall on his outstretched arm. Could've been any number of bad shoulder injuries.

Especially after seeing the tape on Wallace also, this guy should be suspended for more than one game; he needs to know that you cannot lead with your elbow like that. And i would say that even if he wasn't a Laker.

Yep, he didn't even try to go for the ball, just nailed Beasley in the chest with the elbow and forearm. That should a suspension.

That is what made it so bad. He was involved in a play which involves running and jumping. Unless Blake Griffin was standing next to a bunch of sharp objects, shoving him while he is standing still isn't likely to hurt him very bad, let alone break his neck. Bynum could have easily hurt this dude, very very easily.

I see what appear to be two instances of a player retaliating, one of which was a cheap shot being masked as a hard foul. Just not convincingly. Miller's was just dumb, not dangerous.

When you purposely not only do a hard foul, but do a foul that puts the player in great danger of getting injured out of frustration there should be severe consequences. I'v seen some flagrant 2's that didn't put the player danger of severe injury and those don't deserve action after the game but when you put someones career on the line like Bynum did you want to send a message to the entire league that it will not stand for another player purposely putting anothers career at jeopardy with this kind of play.

exactly my thoughts. This isn't football where it's okay to intend to hurt the ball carrier. If this were the playoffs I could understand a little... but this is the Lakers at home vs the pathetic Timberwolves.

The league has to protect their athletes from BS cheap shots like that with a clear message. The way Beasley was upended and fell reminded me of the Ariza breakaway foul on Rudy who required mere back surgery and hasn't really been the same since. Dude came pretty close to cracking his head open on the floor from a 8-9' free fall. I'd support more then a 1 game suspension for stuff like this... hell if the player is seriously hurt to the point they miss games, keep the offending player out as long.

While my feeling on this would be the same if the foul was committed by a Blazer or anyone else, seeing Kobe lobbying the officials after words and hearing the Laker fans cheer Bynum as he heads to the tunnel following his ejection, just adds to the disgust for the purple and piss.

The bigger problem here is that Bynum has no fear of on-court retaliation. In the pre-Tomjanovich days, if you hit someone like that, the other teams enforcer would come after you or go after your star player. Now, you have to leave it up to officials who are beholden to Stern.

    I prefer the old way.

Unfortunately that just makes me hate them all the more. I say unfortunately because I would defiantly be upset with any team (even the blazers) if there star player did the same thing after a player was ejected for that type of play but there are only two teams that it would really make me hate even more and that's the Lakers or Celtics. It just reiterates the stereotypes i'v put into my head of those two teams and it makes me feel pretty bad that I get so into a game that I'v actually stereotyped two teams to the point that nothing they do will make me have any respect for those teams.

I bet the league office won't do anything until Monday.

    Stern don't work on weekends.

The only one getting in anyone's face was Odom standing in the middle of the Wolves players acting tough and defiant and daring anyone to do anything about it. I despise that guy.

What a dick. Check the look on his face after Beasley hits the ground.

I mean, I understand it because they're pricks, but I don't understand the Lakers right after that foul. You look at the immediate aftermath and you see Odom stand right over him, Barnes talking shit immediately. You see Blake, BLAKE, walk up to the circle trying to look tough. And Brown as well. It's not like all of those guys had to because Minny players jumped to Beasley's defense. But they all walk over. Bitches. I wish Pekovic just started landing haymakers all around. Now I'm sure Beasley was talking shit the whole game,a nd probably was half way down as well. Still.
