I know he's dealt with injuries the past couple of seasons, but he seems like a shell of the player he used to be. He doesn't play above the rim and doesn't make an effort to chase down rebounds.

What's painful to watch is his lack of movement on offense. He doesn't flash to the paint or set any meaningful picks anymore. He doesn't roll to the basket with any conviction, maybe because he knows he won't get the ball?

He got off to a great start for the first month or so of the season, but has tailed off considerably since then.

    Any thoughts?

The NBA game is beautiful as it is brutal. If it's not physical with Beans, it's mental. He may never be any better playing for the Warriors. I saw a young Joe Smith was the same way. The best would be a change of scenery for AB. He's young enough for a fresh start.

We need Biedrins though. Without a center we're really dead. I suppose this is good for becoming Cleveland Cavalier bad and get more lottery balls in the draft. We need a player that's all-around elite.

    Good question Shapecity.

I am not so sure. It seems to be mental though. He has stated numerous times that he does not have the necessary confidence. I don't know what you do with that. Another part may be motivation. He has got his pay-day, and now he may not be as motivated as he was a few years ago. I am not saying that he has no motivation what-so ever all the time. But it seems like lots of times, like right now, there is perhaps no motivation at all. He is not even travelling with the team on this current road trip because of an ankle sprain.

Back to confidence, I am guessing could affect his offense because he does not want to go to the free throw line anymore, and on defense he may be too timid because he does not want to foul out each game while still being able to be somewhat of a presence on defense in the paint.

I think another part of the story with him is that he has lacked much coaching, especially for a young big. He has been in the league for 6 years, this being his 7th year, and he is still only a year older than Udoh. Ever since the team got rid of Clifford Ray, I can't tell you what kind of big man coach has been around to help Biedrins and others develop in the post. It sounded like it may have been Keith Smart, though maybe he was just the guy to go over to visit Andris to make sure he's making progress.

Why does our basketball look so bad? Perhaps because we have a main lineup with players who entered the NBA a bit too early in Monta, Wright, and Biedrins. Well I guess I can't say they came in too early, but I think a lot of good basketball knowledge is gained in college and can easily be omitted from the NBA learning way(s). Then again for Biedrins, I don't think NCAA basketball was on his radar, so it may not have been so bad for him to come out when he did...
