if gsp not moving up to fight silva by the end of the year or new years then.. silva should fight jones, now thatd be wicked. i'd also like to see machida get a crack at jones as well but he is a couple fights away from that shot..
I want to see Silva v. Jones more than I want to see GSP v. Silva after watching Jones dominate like that. Physically I think only Phil Davis is the only guy I can think of right now that can touch Bones Jones. Rashad has no chance against Bones, I think that's a huge part of the reason why he was pissed Bones jumped ahead of him, after training with him, Rashad has to know he would be a huge underdog against Jones. (Yes, I am getting my MMA fanboy speculation on.)
Damn Jones was just dominant in there tonight, at the end when Herb Dean was pulling him off Shogun you can actually see Shogun start to tap the mat from the strikes. There are a lot of big names at 205 for Jones to fight but the only match I see being close is probably with Silva.
The disclosed bonuses ($70,000) went to: Brendan Schaub (knockout) Erik Koch (knockout) Edson Barboza & Anthony Njokuani (fight)
Rashad is leaving Greg Jackson forever. Said on his twitter they're still cool and hes also still friends with Jon Jones but hes gone for good. Said he only actually trained with Greg Jackson 5 times in his last two fights anyway. Also said that Jackson brought JJ in against his wishes a few years ago.
I fear that Shogun's knee problems have forever fucked him. He was gassed half way through the 1st round last night. He was very soft looking, too. Maybe it'll take him a fight or two to get back into fighting shape, but I hope it happens. What is next for him? A rematch with Forrest? Winner of Rampage/Hamill?
Yeah I was thinking a rematch with Forrest might work. Problem is he give up even more size to Forrest who walks around at 240. Almost all the PRIDE guys seem to fight above their more natural weight. Tough fighters. Another possibility is Shogun against the winner of Nogueira/Davis.
