"Randy Moss still knows how to fire up Minnesota fans.

The former Vikings wide receiver Wednesday pondered the idea of returning to the purple jersey for a third stint, although he made clear his preferred destination.

    New England.

"I would entertain coming back to Minnesota, but if you're asking me where my heart is . . . I love Tom Brady and I love playing for coach (Bill) Belichick," Moss told fill-in host Erin Henderson, a Vikings linebacker, on KFAN-AM 1130.

From 1998-2004, Moss caught 574 regular-season passes for 9,142 yards and 90 touchdowns for the Vikings. But his best performance came with New England in 2007, when he caught 23 touchdowns while helping the Patriots to a 16-0 regular season.

The Patriots traded Moss to Minnesota in October 2010, for a third-round pick, only for the Vikings to waive him less than a month later.

Moss caught 13 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns in four games with the Vikings, and an unproductive eight-game stint with the Tennessee Titans led to the worst season of his career — 28 total catches for 393 yards and five touchdowns.

Moss told Henderson that he "really didn't have no problems" with then-Vikings coach Brad Childress and acknowledged that his critical postgame news conference after a 28-18 loss to New England on Oct. 31 probably led to his exit. "
