<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Paul Pierce and Danny Ainge are expected to soon discuss a contract extension, despite comments recently made by Antoine Walker.?I?m not going to comment on that stuff,? Ainge said. ?I think Paul is happy in Boston, and I guess Antoine still has some issues with us. But all my conversations with Paul have been very positive. He?s said he wants to continue his career in Boston.?Signed through the 2007-08 season, but Pierce has an option to sever the deal next summer and become an unrestricted free agent.</div>SourceDo you think Paul will resign, right now I think he will, he said he was pleased. Ainge also taking some shots at Toine
Pierce has gotta stay. The window of opportunity with this team is opening a bit, and should he stay along for the ride, itll open up that much more.
I would like to see Peirce on another team and try to get a ring. I jsut do not want him coming to Miami because that would cause major problems. I would love him playing for the Heat but, I don't see how in the world that could work with Wade at SG. Posey at SF. Unless Posey played some PF and Pierce went to a SF. But, it would also be nice to him finish his career as a Celtic.

Pierce is comfortable here, Boston loves him, he also gets to play 40 minutes a night no matter what, and he could be the centerpiece to a great team in the near future. People always say they want to see him win a ring somewhere else...but where though? There hasn't been one legit offer for Pierce, I remember the one semi-legit trade was pierce for corey maggette straight up and that would be an awful deal. I think Pierce will stay.
He's always been a Celtic, he's probably going to resign there. He knows that going to another team won't raise his chances at a title, who cares what Antoine Walker says. Whenever there have been rumors Paul has just said, 'they are going to happen when you don't win'...He's not going anywhere.
If he wants to win he wont resign. I think paul should leave. Hes too good to be losing the way he is. And Boston isnt getting players to help him win. I think he should leave and go play somewhere that has a winning shot.

There is a lot of talent on the team, might be a little young, but talented anyways. There is not a giant gap at any position on the team, the only thing that really needs to be adressed is the backup point guard spot, and it should get adressed in the draft. Paul Pierce resigning would be a good situation for him and the Celtics. He can show these young guys the way, and be the one that takes over in the fourth quarter. Give it some time, maybe two years, and this team should be a legit contender.
Pierce will re-sign. Boston has treated him well, he has treated them well. He loves the city itself, or so I presume, so I see him re-signing. Most of all, he is quickly becoming a top 5 Celtic of all-timeNote: Quickly becoming
While I don't think it's best for Paul as far as winning, I would LOVE Pierce in green for the rest of his career. He is my favorite player and will be for a long time, and I would never argue re-signing him if he wants to. But at the same time, is it really best for him? Who knows, he already guarenteed a playoff appearence in 2007 so maybe he knows of a deal or free agent signing that we don't. All I can say is I will be a happy guy if he re-signs that contract, and even if he doesn't, I will wear my 2 Paul Pierce jerseys with pride still. But on a side note, this article really means nothing. I mean he has always said he wants to retire a Celtic, and he probably does, but when it comes down to the wins/losses columns, he could have second thoughts. I mean Danny Ainge is not going to do this interview and say something like "Paul really doesn't want to stick around." Why? For one, you just don't do that, and 2 if he was looking to deal him - saying he wants out publicly would lower his value. So this article proves nothing and answers no questions, but I would love for Paul to be a Celtic for life.
