Mayweather asks for $100 million to fight Pacquiao

    Unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. has reportedly asked for $100 million to fight Manny Pacquiao in a mega fight that doesn’t appear to happening anytime soon unfortunately. Mayweather obviously is looking to get as much as he can for the fight, but his asking price is going to have to come down a tad for the fight to get made. Someone working for Mayweather had secret talks with Bob Arum [Pacquiao's promoter] recently to try and get the fight made but it looks like things didn’t work out form what Arum is saying.

    I understand that this fight would be the biggest payday ever in boxing (at least in all likelihood)...but Floyd ain't getting $100 mil. I can see maybe $40-60 mil...but not $100.

    The live gate record is $19-million and the PPV record is $120-million (both for Money/ODLH), both gross. This fight would have to shatter everything for them to break even on fighter salaries (assuming $100-million each). It could, but not by that much. They'd have to sell like 5-million PPV's. $25-million each is something realistic they could aim for.
