This thread is dedicated to the players who always gets the job done and always plays with their heart out. However, they don't get any credit because their either not on a winning team or some other particular reason.I would have to go with Gerald Wallace because he has averaged 2 SPG and 2 BPG and he still doesn't get his name mentioned as much. He can really fill in the stat sheet and always gets the job done for his slumped team. Are there any other players you guys can think of?
When ever I think of this category, Chris Kaman and Udonis Haslem come to mind. Udonis may have shook this "no credit" thing off with the title though.
I like the mentioning of Udonis Haslem. He gets the rebounds and does the dirty work. Hes a really good role player for the heat but doesnt get mentioned much. I also agree w/ Gerald Wallace. hes a freak athlete that can do a little of everything including defense lol which is pretty hard to find in the league these days. Some others that come to mind are Caron butler(gets a lot of credit from wizards fans but not many other people.) Same w/ Jamison. Also there is Josh Howard, Bonzi Wells, and how about Leandro Barbosa. I mean the guy came off the bench and averaged 13 ppg and was able to make some big shots for the Suns.
Haslem, Kaman, Barbosa as said for the reasons stated above.Marquis Daniels is a solid player that never gets any credit for what he does on the court.
I'll throw two names around, one is Caron Butler. For some reason, he put up career numbers and no one has seemed to notice him the entire year. He is an excellent rebounder for his size and is a decent scorer on the offensive end.Theres also, Greg Buckner, he is a in-your-face defender who plays very physical. Hes not the greatest player around but unlike Bowen and Artest who get there credit from the defensive end Buckner gets no credit.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Fouled Out @ Jun 23 2006, 09:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Kwame Brown, he gets no credit for actually being a halfway decent player...</div>true Kwame has really turned his game around after the all-star break as did lamar odom, kwame is developing into a pretty good player but he gets no credit because of the "bust"number 1 pick, but give kwame props the last like 10 games of the season and the playoffs he has been playing much better but he is going to improve even more..
Jason Richardson Doesnt get any credit, i mean look at his stat line:2005-06 PPG: 23.2RPG: 5.8APG: 3.1STPG: 1.3I dont see how he is not an all-star. I mean he gets the job done almost every night and he is only known for his dunking ability, give this guy some Dap.
I have to agree about Udonis Haslem and Chris Kaman. Kaman is a great addition to the Clippers` organization and always gets the job done. He is constantly there to help Brand out.
Wow, Udonis Haslem gets mentioned in these threads so much that I just can't see how you can lable him underrated anymore. I mean come on he plays next to Shaq, alot of NBA players could put up similar numbers playing next to Shaq/Zo. Personally, I think he's getting closer to overrated.Anyways, for me I'd say Michael Sweetney. Similar to Udonis, he may be undersized, but he's a great rebounder, good low post scorer, and is a real banger inside. Also, he's played both the PF/C positions consistantly well for the Bulls.
Ya, Michael Sweetney doesnt get enough credit for what he does. He especially doesnt get enough credit for the work he does at a buffet line.
I'm not going ot be repetitive and say Haslem, but 2 other people come to my mind1.) Dwight Howard- Doesn't get rookie of the year in '05 (why I don't know). For a good part of the season is the second-leading rebounder in the league & barely gets a mention about being an all-star player. Total bull if you ask me.2.) Carmelo Anthony- Suprised? Good, that helps to keep this thread alive. 26.3 ppg, has lead his team to the playoffs since he's been in the league (in the west-thats not easy). Did it again this year despite injuries and Kenyon Martin being an ass, but nobody wants to put him in the top 10-15 players in the league. Not an all-star? Give me a damn break3.) Mike Bibby- Suprised you again? when the Kings are good, he's good. When the Kings are bad, he's still good. Even when Artest got there, bibby was still having a 30+ point night every 5-8 games. he's always been clutch and I hope next year people will recognize and but Bibby on the ballot.

This thread is players who pretty much get no credit. All three players you listed get credt. People arerecognizing Dwight Howards potential and he will get more and more noticed as his game improves. Melo??? For Godsakes the guy is considered a greta player in the league. To sya he didnt make the all star game is a weak excuse cuz since when do all the deserving players make it. Its just the same starters every year. Tons of players that are deserving for the all star game dont make it and thats just ebcause over 50% of the people that vote are just biased and vote for the players they like or dont actually follow the nab and just vote for the same old people like AI, Kobe, tmas, vine carter, etc.Its the same w/ Mike Bibby. he gets plenty of credit. I mean the dude after all was chosen to be the starting pg a few years back over AI for the US Team. How is that not getting recognition. Once again you use all star game voting as a reason. Its the same thing liek i said above so no need to repeat myself.
Question: Why is Udonnis treated like god on this thread for doing dirty work when Nene, Drew Gooden,Kurt Thomas, Zach randolph, and Mehmet Okur all do the same thing? But anyway... back to to Iversonfan. You want players that get no credit? Okay here we go.How about Antonio McDyess? without him the Pistons have no depth and lots of worries when Rasheed takes a rest. Jason Collins is a good candidate. I think he did the best job guarding Shaq that any other center during the entire playoffs. He gets no credit whatsoever, especially in New Jersey where they are 24th in attendance. Who else? Who else?Try Mike Dunleavy Jr. Always consistent, always ready whether starting or not, and he doesn't have the credit (or the wins) to show for it. If Jason Richardson doesn't get the proper respect, what chance is there for Dunleavy?Besides, players are not truly considered great until the either make the all-star team or an all-NBA team. Yes the players I mentioned do get credit, but not as much as they deserve.
for this topic i def say udonis haslem, he had a great defensive series against dirk in the nba finals and he really is becoming a solid nba player who i feel deserves more credit
I wouldn't actually consider Udonis Haslem on this thread. He is actually an underrated player rather than a player who gets no credit. IMO, he gets a lot of credit for playing in Miami.Same thing will Melo, he gets a lot of credit due to his clutchness and he was a snubbed at the all star voting otherwise he would have made it to the team. There is no doubt in my mind that he would be an all star next season.Jason Richardson is a prime example for this thread - props to whoever thought of him. He always gets the job done for Golden State and averages over 20 PPG.Would you guys consider Morris Peterson on this thread? He is a very good shooter and can give you over 15 points a night. Yet, he makes a lot of big shots - I remember watching a Cavaliers game when he made a huge shot for Toronto but too bad it was no use because Damon Jones made the game winner.
Udonis like Sunny D said. He has a terrific defensive game but, you don't hear anything about him because he never really has great offensive games. But, he deffinately makes an impact on the Heat when Shaq is on the bench with foul trouble.
This type of topic is posted alot, and Haslem seems to come up alot like other people said, so i am not going to say him. Usually i would scream Kevin Martin around this time too, so i am not going to say him either. I also said Chris Kaman this year, until i saw what the Suns did to him and realized how incredibly slow he is. I also saw that he is not as good of a defensive player as i thought he was in that Suns series.A player that got it done this season, and was really silent about it would be Cuttino Mobley during the regular season though. Most of the season he was the number three option behind Brand and Cassell and filled the role perfectly. He averaged near 15 a game, and no one really paid much attention to him at all. What really impressed me about Mobley, was that he raised the level of his play when playing against the better wing men in the league, like Kobe Bryant.
im going with Haslem, his contribution is often unnoticed, and i thought he came up huge in game 6 especially (double-double, 17 points, 10 rebounds). I think Gerald Wallace also goes heavily unnoticed
