Best Defenders for each position in NBA History

Scottie Pippen, Sidney Moncrief, MJ, Bill Russell to name a few.

 

Add Alonzo Mourning there to, he was still a great defensive player this year despite his age and injuries.

 

Cant forget Dennis Rodman, Gary Payton, Maurice Cheeks, Hakeem Olajuwan and Dikembe Mutombo.

 

Oh duh, I didn't post Payton or Dennis Rodman. Shame on Me.

 

You should make this thread so that we can list the top defensive players for each position, it's a good idea.

 

Here are a few that comes to my mind...Hakeem Olajuwon, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutumbo, Bill Russell, Dennis Rodman, Ben Wallace, Joe Dumars, Ron Artest, Scottie Pippen, Gary Payton, and of course Michael Jordan.

Atleats the other players there are atleast decent.

 

Iverson and the word defense in the same sentence :no1: Isiah Thomas anyone? He played the point pretty physical even for being a short guy.

 

Has anyone mentioned Joe Dumars?
