Rose drives scores with the left hand, gets fouled!! FTA made it!! Up 5 10 seconds left. This will make 14 wins in a row at home
Rose with the dagger. Great drive to the basket. Exactly the kind of play he needs to make even when everyone expects him to try it.
Bulls win!!! 99-96 Memphis had 6 players in double figures Rose 24, Deng 23, Bulls 45-32 rebounding edge Rose had 7 rebounds, 7 assists
Happy to get the win. I'll have some things to say about Boozer later, but i don't want to spoil the mood.
Tough game. We won the rebounding battle, but they played big. Nice to get the win, and to see Boston lose.
At least he closed well, right? . . . but yeah, Boozer played three-quarters of shite basketball. I think this may have been a good game to lose so that the lessons really sit in. This is the first game this seasons where I think Rose absolutely needed to circulate the ball more. The good: Luol Deng, Taj Gibson, Kyle Korver and Keith Bogans had relatively good games. The bad, the Bulls should blow out teams when all of those players play reasonably well.
That left handed layup by Rose at the end to close was AMAZING!
There's an interesting quote from today's Sam Smith article: I know Hollins was commenting on taking possessions back from the Bulls and not really turnovers, but the Bulls committed an uncharacteristic 14 turnovers. That combo of offensive rebounds and turnovers goes a long way in deciding if the Bulls win. The additional four turnovers over where we want them. It doesn't sound like a huge margin, but you have to remember that each turnover represents a lost possession (the Bulls are averaging 1.34 points per shot, and that doesn't include rebounds) and often a high chance opportunity on the other end. You're talking about a three to four point swing per each additional turnover. Tack on 12 points to the Bulls' total and all the sudden you have a 15 point victory.
