Cincinnati Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo, who has been ill for nearly two weeks, was diagnosed with mononucleosis Friday. The right-hander has been suffering from a cough and flulike symptoms, and chest X-rays and blood tests taken Thursday revealed he had mono.
