"The Brewers have added some intrigue to their center-field situation by trading for Nyjer Morgan, a speedster who had fallen out of favor with the Nationals.

Milwaukee sent Minor League infielder Cutter Dykstra and cash considerations to Washington for Morgan, a left-handed hitter who offers an interesting foil for incumbent Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez, who hits right-handed.

Both Gomez and Morgan have their detractors -- Gomez for his unfocused nature at the plate and Morgan for a series of incidents in which he lost his temper, including a benches-clearing incident with the Marlins last September after Florida pitcher Chris Volstad threw behind him. Morgan was suspended eight games and fined $15,000 for his role in the scuffle. "
