What a huge turnaround the Bulls have made since he took over as GM in May of 2009.

He made some huge moves to get us to where we are today:

    1) Traded Tyrus for Acie Law, Flip Murray, and a 1st round pick (CAP SPACE and a #1)
    2) Traded Salmons, #1 pick (Larry Sanders) and 2x #2 picks for Joe Alexander, Hakim Warrick, and a #1 pick (Kevin Seraphin). CAP SPACE.
    3) Traded Hinrich, Seraphin, and Cash to Washington for Vladimir Veremeenlo. CAP SPACE.
    4) Traded Warrick to Phoenix for a 2nd round pick.
    5) Signed Boozer
    6) Signed Korver
    7) Signed Brewer
    8) Traded a 2nd round pick for CJ Watson
    9) Signed Kurt Thomas
    10) Hired Thibs as coach
    And most importantly:
    11) Signed Brian Scalabrine.

He also signed Noah to a long term contract.

I think he deserves serious consideration. The Bulls didn't strike it rich in free agency, but I think they did a great job of constructing a cohesive team.

The really interesting thing to me in terms Forman being a viable candidate for EOY this season is that much of what the Bulls FO has done is designed to help them in the future. That's some good shit.

My initial reaction was no. But when you lay it out, I'm not sure there's a bad move in the bunch.

Edit: And don't forget: Traded James Johnson to Toronto for a first round pick.

Upon further thought, I think the one move that could haunt the Bulls, and count out Gar Forman in my book (as if anyone cares what's in my book) was the decision not to trade Asik for Courtney Lee. I'm suffering a hard case of non-buyer's remorse. Courtney Lee would have given the Bulls a young kickin' shooter and defender in our starting lineup. Lee has been plagued by inconsistency in his stint in Houston when he should be rounding into an every day veteran. With the passing of the trade deadline, though, he's getting consistent minutes and rounding into form. Lee is scoring 11.6 points a game on .400% from the three (2.7 attempts) with 1.1 steals in 30 minutes a game, post trading deadline. The Bulls could use that. I could see the Bulls reticence to make the move costing them a championship. A lot, of course, will depend on whether Asik is able to contribute in the playoffs, especially against Dwight Howard.

    Hush now !

By not trading Asik for Lee is exactly why GarBoy deserves to keep his head

And with a face like that that's saying something

So whatever happened to Vladimir Veremeenlo ?

With a name like that he should be the next James Bond villian

I'm enjoying this feature of "similar threads" that shows up down below:

Oh the twists and turns of sports fandom!

For the record, I think Gar Forman was a much needed palliative to the overly emotional and paternal Paxson in the front office. They seem to be working well together, once they got the kinks worked out.
