Na I dont see that at all. Jkidd is getting old and they seem to not worrying about fixing their frontcourt or bench any time soon so I think they will be no better than last season unless they make a lot of good moves in the off season for the problems listed above
No, what would make anyone think they could do it this season if they coulddn't do it last. For one they could use an upgrade at PF, but most importantly they need to upgrade their bench. Cliff Robinson has been their most reliable player off the bench and with him coming off drug suspensions in the playoffs and soon turning 40 yeays old, it's up in the air what they're going to get out of him. Other than him, the bench has played very inconsistent.
nah i dont think the nets are good enough to overtake the pistons or the heat. Just like everyone else has been saying they need to fix their frontcourt and they need to upgrade their bench especially adding a backup pg for kidd, they thought they had that in mclinis but it dident turn out the way they wanted to
i think so... we have filled the spots we needed in the draft.. if we can sign a solid big man there is a posibilityIf vince goes off like he did during the season, they have a chance to beat anyone... the beat miami like everytime, and they beat Detroit once or twice so they can beat anyone if it all meshes together.. but most likely no
As a true nets fan my entire life, this season might be the season when we can take over miami and detroit. Detroit, losing its heart and soul in Ben Wallace, is going to be much worse than the team it was the last few years. And detroit is a one man show, with Flash leading the way. The biggest question is can we take over the best team in the east title with Chicago getting afully good and Cleveland getting better as well? I guess we shall wait and see
No. They have no one inside to stop Shaq. I doubt thry make the ECF's next year. I think the Bulls, Cavs and the Heat are all better teams. Also, Jason Kidd is declining each and every year, and they really have nothing off the bench, even though they did pick up marcus Williams, he wont find much time behind Kidd.
^You act like Shaq lit up the Nets in the series for like 40 ppg every nite. I dont think he even broke 17 ppg against us which is solid i guess but it wasn't anything special. And the only thing holding the Nets back is a bench. The starting five is one of the best in the league but they need solid backups. The draft was a nice start but I think one more big man and a shooter will be enough to the Nets over the topAnd I don't think the Cavs or Buls are better than the Nets.
Not until they get some inside help. They dont have that really good post up player, because I count Krstic as a shooter rather than a post player. They havnt even been any rumours for trying to get one this year, and they can just not start Cliff Robinson next year and expect to beat elite teams in the East..Plus, Jason Kidd wont have as good a season. He is declining..
Jason Kidd and Cliff Robinson are just too late in their respective careers to make a run for it all. I seriously doubt they get out of the second round. Detroit and Miami are still quite a bit better than the Nets. Detroit may be in the best position of anybody, they got rid of a Ben Wallace that was starting to decline and only have one really ancient player (Davis) and his playing time is NOT guaranteed. That's probably just the homer in me talking, but I don't expect Detroit to be 'much much worse' without Ben.

You can't judge how he plays on the box scores
The Nets can overtake them, because the players are getting more used to the up-tempo style of play VC brings to the team. Nenad Kristic, is getting better. Jason Kidd is still a good leader. Richard Jefferson is versatile. They'll be great.
