I've heard members rumble about how much they hate him, could someone please explain why? Was there some incident I don't remember?
the way he left new jersey. i don't know all the details since i could care less about that organization but i think he refused to play for them or something like that. i like alonzo though. he could've died with his kidney condition but he fought through it and now he's playing well. i admire his heart and passion for the game.
He is a whiner and is always flexing his muscle on the court. He just gets on my nerves and always has.
I like Alonzo Mourning. He has a lot of love for the game. Sure he didn't want to be on a few teams, but he isn't getting any younger, and he wanted to win a ring.
Because he basically whined his way to the Miami Heat. Gave nothing to the Nets after they gave him a big contract, kidney problems were the reason but miracously makes a healthy return with the Heat and gave them first shot at signing him. For me, the way he screwed the Mavs in the offseason when we could have possibly signed him and Malone. Not a lot of non Mavs fans will know the story, but Zo gave us a promise he would sign with us and Malone would follow suit. Not only did he not sign with us(signed with Nets), Malone felt he was 2nd fiddle in negotiations and would sign with the Lakers. So we lose out on both in free agency. Mavs fans would never forgive that piece of crap. Oh and possibly the same reason people don't like roid users.
I dont hate Zo, but he has been known to have a bad attitude around his teammates, and also a lack of leadership and respect for his coaches.

I knew Cuban tried to sign him that offseason, and but he then decided to sign with the Nets
While I don't like his attitude, Zo does alot for the community, and has came back from adversity most of us can't dream of. I have to give him respect for that

I don't see how anyone could hate him. He played a terrific part for the Heat and deserves some credit.
Personally, I'm happy for him that he actually won a title. He deserved it throughout his amazing career, along with Payton. I dont necessarily like him, I just respect the fact that he came back from that kidney problem to play inspired ball, which led to a championship.
