Hindsight is 20-20, but how bad did the Atlanta Hawks f-up when they traded Jordan Crawford, their 2010 #1 pick, their 2011 #1 pick and Mike Bibby for Kirk Hinrich? That said, the Warriors could have made just as bad a trade when they traded their #1 for Marcus Williams and then traded a #2 pick to move back the #1 pick. They need to have a good draft in 2011 or else they'll fall behind even further from the Western Division pack since they do not have enough cap space and have a playoff team so they can lure a big time FA.

All I know is the Warriors can't be gambling with their picks. They need to rebuild through drafts if they can't lure better free agents. Look at the Spurs. They are great at scouting, drafting, and finding free agents that would want to come to San Antonio. What is our excuse? We're not really a small market team. We should be competing with bigger city markets, but the management was/is still a joke with the way we do everything except for maybe drafting guards.

Hinrich is a great addition to the Hawks but two #1s? That's a big price, but they did get to drop Bibby.

Good point about SA being a smaller market and yet they keep going to the playoffs and winning championships. Just think if we kept Pop. Now we got Bob Myers, so I'm itching to see what he can do instead of Riley. First order of business would be to get a new coach. Doc Rivers and Phil Jackson (both are supposed to take a year off after this season) may be available in 2012. Now I don't think we'll be able to get them because they'll get better offers, but maybe we can get one of their assistants. Some of teams that are getting eliminated from the playoffs early like Denver may be willing to trade. I agree we got to keep our picks and get good draft picks. I wouldn't mind getting an extra first rounder somehow. Maybe Miami or New York would take a chance on Biedrins.

Yeah, hey sorry if I ever wasn't staying on point. I'm just so rushed for time these days that my mindset on the warriors is basically "what will the warriors do that is different than the previous management and ownership". Even if we got a guy like Popovich, the front office still has to make good moves, which we weren't doing. We either did very little or we did not follow-up on a larger move or the move was plain bad.

I'm hoping the new management can do a better job, but the real wonder is if Cohan sold the team to the right people. Cohan's last F.U. to us all was to not sell to Ellison and I wonder if money will ever be an issue in attracting the best players in the league. For instance, I would like us to hold onto Biedrins at least as a back-up center so we're not stuck without a double double guy and then pursue a center in free agency. Udoh should be the power forward, not the center. What we need is a true center that isn't a complete stiff offensively, solid defensively, passes ok, and can hit the glass. David Lee can do his thing. It'd be nice if we can get some veteran center who has something left in the tank. Maybe Okur when he gets healthy? Perhaps Joel Pryzbilla or something we can do to get a younger center like Marc Gasol?
