Re: WWE WrestleMania XXVII Cody won the match with the crossroads on Rey. AFTER he hit Rey with Rey's knee brace.
Re: WWE WrestleMania XXVII Lawler jobbing to Cole so far. Jerry has done that for years. He has meant a lot to a lot of successful wrestlers down through the years. Always one of my favorites!
Re: WWE WrestleMania XXVII The out come was over turned because Stone Cold affected the out come of the match. Lawler was DQ
Well, that was actually a pretty enjoyable PPV. I'll come out and say that I'm disappointed with how the title match ended, but it makes sense, and was kinda obvious that it would happen. But, with doing this...it almost makes it feel like The Rock could be making a full time comeback (or least one that extends for a couple more months). Because, honestly, the way WM ended didn't close out any feud. Really, I'd say it only ignited it even more. This could just be my wishful thinking speaking, but ya never know. Beyond that though...match of the night, to me, was Taker vs. Triple H. For starters...Triple H's entrance was epic. I absolutely loved it. And while the match wasn't a classic like the Shawn vs. Taker matches were, it was still really, really good. The amount of finishers that was hit in the match was absolutely asinine, and I liked Trips hitting Taker with the Tombstone. Honestly, I almost thought the match was over there. But nonetheless, Taker locks in Hells Gate (for a long damn time, too), and Triple H basically had to tap out or pass out. He wasn't moving Taker. Though I'd like to know why he didn't bother to use the sledge when he had it in his hands the first time. Oh well. This certainly sets up for a rematch next year in some sort of Streak vs. Career match again. The other highlights of the show, for me, were Edge and ADR. I thought that was a great match, and I was definitely shocked ADR didn't win. I almost expected Christian to turn heel in the match and cost Edge the title. I also shockingly enjoyed the Orton vs. Punk match. Orton did a good job the entire match selling the knee injury (in my book), and the ending was solid. However...I was sad that Punk didn't get a punt. I also really enjoyed the Mysterio vs. Rhodes match. It was a good high octane match the entire time, and I thought SHOULD have opened the show. Aside from those...Lawler vs. Cole was ok. I was hoping to see Cole get hit with a Stunner (or three). But hey, Austin stunned Mathews and Booker, so it worked, haha. The Corre vs. Show/Kane/Kofi/Santino match looked a lot like a squash match...because The Corre just got worked in that match the entire time. The mixed tag match was pointless and predictable (though Morrison's Starship Pain to the outside was awesome), and it was a shame that Ziggler and Morrison didn't even get in the match (legally). And missing from everything was the US Title match. Apparently it was a dark match...which sucks. Overall though...I enjoyed the PPV. Would it have been worth $55? Maybe. There were lots of good matches, though a lot of underwhelming matches, too (WWE Championship match, anyone?).
I thought the show was pretty shitty overall. The Rock was barely on, besides the beginning, a few times in the back, and at the end of the Cena vs. Miz match obviously. Matches were horrible. Besides the HHH/Taker match, which was, weird. Taker got dominated throughout but somehow gets a submission win out of nowhere? Sounds more like a MMA fight, not WWE. Everything else was just, whatever. Just didn't feel like WM. Especially without the MitBLM. I'm excited for Raw tomorrow though. Can't wait to see what everyone has to say. Especially HHH and Taker and Cena and Rock, ect.
