So, do we keep Baron Davis for next year, or buy him out?

I say keep him. His attitude has been fine and I think he can help develop our younglings from the upcoming draft. In short, why not?

The guy can still run a team.

Yeah, THIS year. It's just that I'm not sure that Baron Davis and his knees are interested in playing the 'wise mentor' role on a team that may lose 50+ games next year too. Maybe trade him before he's exposed that way?

Don't misunderstand...I say keep him, just playing Devil's Advocate...

He'd be a great backup for Billups in NY.

Knowing Vinnie, he'll play him if he's on the team.

Yeah and I guess that's the real question. He'd be happier on a contender like NY (ok, sorta contender), bit the Cavs could definitely use his leadership if he's willing to provide it. Lots of teams would like to have him as a backup...lol.

I don't think the Cavs have a choice because Baron Davis will be tough to trade. Depending how the new CBA plays out, a contract like B. Diddy's becomes an even greater liability if there's a hard cap.

Yeah....I don't think we can trade him. I was really thinking buyout.
