    JOE apparently asked for the fight as he wants to come in, waste little time, and make a big impression.

    Dude trains at Golden Glory with Overeem, etc., and is a ADCC champion (2003).

    But the long layoff + facing a good wrestler with enormous punching power = danger.

    I wonder if the UFC thought it would be good to let Carwin have an "easy" fight as well because he's coming off some pretty serious back surgery?

    Tito Ortiz to fight Ryan Bader at UFC 132

    Former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz will face contender Ryan Bader on July 2 in Las Vegas, UFC president Dana White told ESPN.com on Monday.

    Ortiz (15-8-1) will look to snap a three-fight losing skid, while Bader attempts to bounce back from the first loss of his professional career. Bader was defeated by newly crowned 205-pound champion Jon Jones on Feb. 5.

    "I like this fight," White said. "It's a good fight stylistically; they're both wrestlers. Tito is coming off several losses, and Bader is coming off a loss."

    White said that Ortiz likely needs a win over Bader to retain his spot on the UFC's roster.

    The first bantamweight title fight in UFC history will happen this summer.

    Current champion Dominick Cruz(Above) will meet top contender Urijah Faber(Below) on July 2 at UFC 132, which is expected to take place in Las Vegas. UFC officials broke the news via Twitter.

    Cruz (17-1) became the first-ever 135-pound UFC champion when he defended the WEC title against Scott Jorgensen in the promotion's final show in December.

    Cruz's only professional loss came at the hands of Faber in March 2007. The two have developed a heated rivalry since.

    UFC welterweight Jon Fitch has withdrawn from his UFC 132 bout against B.J. Penn, scheduled for July 2, due to a shoulder injury, sources close to the event said Wednesday.

    After losing to massive light heavyweight Forrest Griffin, Rich Franklin now open to fighting at middleweight again.

    Basically looking for interesting fights like Couture.

    I read on CP that Cruz actually opened on some sites as the underdog, I wonder how many people jumped on that before the odds makers changed the line.
