Nice to see that he has us ranked above our likely first round opponent. Mavs are definitely not getting any love.

Seems like Wallace's value should have shot up. If we wanted to trade him, I'm sure we'd get a lot more than we gave up. i.e. I'm not sure we "went for it"

Nevertheless, good to see the Blazers get some national props.

It's strange seeing the Jazz so low. What a horrible, horrible season for their fans. Punk ass crackers!

I still think that franchise will NEVER be the same again. Sloan was a genius!

Well, and Deron is arguably the best point guard in the NBA. He's right up there with Rose, Rondo, and Paul. Losing the both of them in the same season is going to set them back a decade.

Damn back button, lost all my txt. Utah isn't in that bad of shape if they can lock up Harris for the next few years. Harris/Miles/Millsap/Favors/Jefferson is a beastly lineup inside on both ends of the court. I moved Millsap to the three instead of Hayward because most Utah fans seem to think that Millsap/Jefferson is just to small vs most teams and Millsap is to much of a beast to have on the bench and can play the three.
Plus they have 2 Lottery picks this year, 1 of which will be in the 4 to 8 range, plus 1 pick next year which should be a lottery pick and then if they miss out on the playoffs again that'll be another one. They have a great chance of getting lucky and rebuilding swiftly

You can probably say the same thing about every lottery team in the west besides Utah: houston, phoenix, sac, clips, minny, and GS. And of all of those I think there are five teams that have a quicker chance of rebuilding than the jazz.

The Jazz have Potentially 4 lottery picks in the next 2 years with a decent Roster still if Harris can stay healthy. I think they will be back in the playoff hunt next year.

The bigger problem for the Jazz is they've lost their identity. I don't think they appreciated the culture Sloan instilled. Corbin isn't the long term answer. It's much harder to rebuild if you don't know what your team's identity is going to be.

They just hired ex-Blazer Larry Krystowiak today, maybe he will take over.

BTW, #8 seems like a pretty accurate league-wide slot for us. We're not among the elite, but we're among the very, very good.

LOL, it was the University of Utah Utes (Dre's alma mater), not the Utah Jazz that hired Krystowiak.

Well maybe he is going to be the first coach to be in charge of a college and NBA team!

So you are saying that the same management that let Sloan go and then traded away their franchise player is the same management that will make a series a quality draft picks and trades in order to turn the team from its current unmatched mess into a yearly contender?

That is the "problem" with having a bunch of decent players on your roster and a bunch of good picks - they don't mean squat unless you can take that raw material and do something with it. It ain't easy.

They didn't let Sloan go he walked away and as for the Williams trade they were already tons of rumblings that he wasn't happy and would most likely go elsewhere in 2013 because he was tired of the team cutting money and didn't feel like they were invested to try and win a championship. The trade for Williams was great for the Jazz if they thought they were going to lose him to FA because they sold him at the peek of his value.

The Jazz are in a bad spot but not as bad as people seem to think. If they can get a good coach and get an identity again they should be able to field a roster that is fairly well balanced and be back in the playoff hunt fairly soon. Unless they strike gold in the draft I don't think they will be contending for a championship anytime soon but I don't think they'll be that bad off. We'll see in the next 2 years.
