my problem with 2k is the graphics, gameplay may be good but Live OWNS 2k in graphics IMO, they are more realistic and proportionate, i mean look at the jersey collars in 2k! sh*tty graphics IMO

Awesome! Marion has his own shot! I also read somewhere that it has over 130 different player's real form on their jumper. It should be great to see Marion actually shoot like Marion, same with Walker/Childress/Prince/etc. rather than everyone having the same form.

But the question still remains - Does anyone know the release date?

How is NBA Live 2006 unrealistic? I was in superstar mode, and shot 70% with Kobe Bryant. When guys go up in traffic, they are either:A) Rejected out of their mindsB) Hit really hard, and no foul is called 80% of the time. There's one animation that sets in motion when you drive baseline, where the shooting player will get hit so hard they pull the ball to the side, and throw it off the back of the backboard. The end result is not a foul, but a turnover. You can't do anything in the post. The graphics are cartoony.NBA Live can be fun, but it's far from realistic

I have never played one of the 2k games. Always been a NBA Live fan. I might have to get this one though. Looks pretty good.

Live's graphics aren't "cartoony" they are realistic. Live's controls are much easier than 2k's. You must have been playing it on XBox because they elitminated all 3 of those complaints on the 360.

I play Live on the Xbox. Wish I had the 360, but I will most likely get a PS3. Imagine...NBA LIVE 07 on the most powerful gaming system. Amazing!

With NBA Live teaming up with ESPN I think that it will be an awesome game. 2k7 is the same as 2k6 from the looks of those videos.

Live is too cartoonish and too easy. Everything about the game is unrealistic too. I mean I can score 9/10 times with Pierce or even Gerald Green because Pierce is a scorer and Green is a highflyer. That is cheap and if they have an offensive superstar thingy, you can put up any number you want with them.

Just like BCB said, you either get stuffed badly in the paint or fouled (and even when they don't call it your player like flies in the air and menuvers 7 different directions). You can't do anything in the post unless you have a "superstar", you can shoot 75% all day long, and the game is cartoonish.

2k is SO much more realistic, and the graphics are better. Not to mention the little features are much better like the VIP, the Crib (you can even play darts/air hockey in the crib), the mini workouts you can do with your players, etc. Not to mention when you are playing a season or Association, the stats are very realistic when in Live you have Ben Gordon putting up 26/4/4 and LaFrentz putting up 18 ppg.

PLUS the ratings are better. I honestly think 2k is 10 times better than Live. The only thing, and I repeat - the ONLY thing Live has on 2k is All-Star weekend.

They got rid of the whole Freestyle Superstar crap, it is much more realistic, no more "cartoony" graphics, or any of that other crap you are talking about.

Is the 2k series only coming out for ps3 and xbox360 or will they go on ps2/xbox for one last time? Because I for one am not feeling paying 500 bucks to get a ps3 yet.

well if you didnt think 2k6 was that great it looks like 2k7 will be better especially in the graphics department which is unbelievable because it already had pretty good graphicsE3 2006: NBA 2K7 Hands-OnShaping up nicelyby Brent Childers The jerseys still fly around and sweat still realistically flows from players as the game progresses. And that's about all NBA 2K7 shares with its predecessor of last year on Xbox 360. Visually, everything is improved; it's evident with the Xbox version directly across the booth from the next generation version that this isn't just a high definition version of the same game. Yes indeed, this year's NBA 2K7 is its own game and it's a true leap from the current generation to the next generation. The demo featured at the show is only listed as 50% complete and already it offers promise beyond that. The court shines beyond its lackluster glazed over court of yesteryear. This is noticeable from the get-go as the lights from various scoreboards high above reflect off of the court, giving the awesome details; the likes of which have not been seen until this point. Further, every player in the demo from the Phoenix Suns and the Detroit Pistons has been given the VIP treatment from a visual standpoint. All ten men on the court have been given the smallest details. From the accurate looks of the Wallace's to the plastic facemask of Richard Hamilton, the finest details are all in the game. And even beyond that, every detail you'd expect to see at an NBA game, you will see in NBA 2K7. The advertisements on the announcer's booth periodically change and the cheerleaders sit on the sidelines, standing up after each successful basket made by the home team. Each coach is there too, barking orders from the sidelines and pacing back and forth. At half-time, the cheerleaders come off the sidelines accompanied by Go Gorilla (The Phoenix Suns' mascot). NBA 2K7 has everything but the Gatorade on the sidelines? oh wait, that's there too. And it's all accurate and very, very impressive. But attention to detail exceeds far beyond its sexy exterior. This isn't just some candy-coated basketball title with the NBA license slapped on it to make a quick buck. Every player featured in the demo has their own signature moves and shots. The controls are easy to get into and even the AI in the demo version was smart enough to utilize some of the moves to find the holes left in the defense by the human player. As is the trend of finding new ways to make the right analog stick useful in sports games, NBA 2K7 continues it. Only unlike some games, it actually works. You can still use X to shoot, but you can also use the analog stick as well. In addition, when playing defense, the analog stick allows you to cutoff a pass and steal the ball or stick your hands up to block a pass. Again, animation is extremely fluid and it actually works, and not just another right analog stick gimmick. The camera work is another interesting feature this year. It stays in one position for most of the game, but it does shift around from time to time and angle to angle depending on the situation. It's not bothersome at all and gives the game more of a TV style presentation. In order to prevent the action from slowing down, Visual Concepts has also utilized the d-pad to let users make coaching decisions on the fly without pausing or calling a timeout in the middle of the game. It's seamless and easy to use without being a distraction to the player. So with all of the improvements to NBA 2K7, it's shaping up to be the game that NBA 2K6 should have been at launch. The dunks aren't as crazy as last years, though I did see one made from near the three point line. Nonetheless, everything takes a more realistic approach in 2K7, but it doesn't do it without spoiling the fun. All in all, NBA 2K7 has jumped from being something that I didn't really think much about to being one of my most anticipated sports titles of the year. Be on the lookout for it in the Fall of this year.
