The broken record for the playoff teams is to reduce their rotation to 8 men. If this is true, then how would you put together the 8 man rotation? Do you like Nate bringing Batum off the bench? Do you like the Roy/Fernandez back-up? Personally I like what Nate has done so far. Fernandez and Roy; with the recent addition of Batum coming off the bench looks really good. Wallace is fine with extended minutes; backing up Aldridge at PF; while Aldridge plays center. The first round is a long one, so there is plenty of rest for the players to play heavy minutes. I am just praying we don't face the Lakers in the first round. I would really like us to get past the second round before we face them.
We've been playing an 8 man rotation for a couple weeks now. Miller, Matthews, Camby, Wallace, Aldridge start. Roy, Batum, Rudy off bench. Mills and Chris Johnson have had spot minutes here and there but pretty much, the 8 man rotation is already in full effect.
Hopefully next season Oden will be that big we need. But this season, I think our 8 man rotation is on lock.
well said, if the fact that we literally only have dleaguers left (williams/armon/babbitt/cj/patty) 5 scrubs is 2 too many i think
I personally like that Nate is forced to only an 8 man rotation. I think that's much better in the playoffs. Players must step up and get enough burn to find their game. It's too hard to juggle a 10 man rotation. Too many egos to feed. With an 8 man, everyone knows their place, what they need to do to contribute and focus on the assignment much easier. The ace in the hole could very well be Roy. He is looking bad lately; but when the playoffs start, he can get into a different mode. Put his entire body on the line. What does anyone have to lose?
the only issue is when somebody gets a little ankle turn or into foul trouble, and we have mills playing 20 minutes, and CJ logging career highs
Our lack of depth will be our downfall in the playoffs, plain and simple. Martell and Bayless whether you liked them or not would have helped in that situation.
very true, you cant really get anything from armon and babbitt, the two who were supposedly going to replace them, i could see mills becoming an eddie house type if he gets hot though, but we desperately need that other big. i mean right now, with camby out, should we go to a 7 man rotation?
