Assuming the Blazers get the 20th pick in the 2011 NBA draft. What position do you draft and who do you want?

I would pick Markief Morris or Kenneth Faried if they're available. I think we should get the best Big Man available.

Only if it helps get us another PF or C. I don't see anyone wrong with drafting a big with our pick. If nothing else it's another big body.

    Bismack or Faried.

Bismack is the most intriguing. Searching through the DX database there has never been a player with his type of length. At 6'8" with a 7'7" wingspan, he has a bigger reach (9'3") than either LaMarcus or Przybilla (both are at 9'2")

PF sized players with long arms don't seem to do that well in my opinion. Their games are usually more suited to being a center but they are undersized. Ekpe Udoh is a prime example of that in my opinion.

I'm thinking Ben Wallace. He had unusually long arms for his 6'7" frame.

    Bismack is a center.

I wanted Brandon Knight but since his final 4 showing I think that ship has sailed.

Sadly, I am almost to the point of agreeing with you.

Claver? Babbitt? Williams? The team really can't afford another wretched draft.....and this draft will be a challenge for even a vet GM. Trade the pick for a warm body (or a future pick), and give Cho his chance to prove himself in 2012.

    My draft preference:
    1) Trade Batum & Pick for Irving
    2) Trade up for Jonas Valanciunas
    3) Trade pick for future pick
    4) Take Bismark
    5) Take Harper

Jimmer's probably gone to Utah at 11 or whatever, but he'd be decent at 20.

Concur on Faried. Not as sure about Bismack. Do we have 3 years to wait for a Serge Ibaka-type player?

In the 2nd round, Jamie Skeen might be a decent pickup. So might Reggie Jackson and flyer pick Jeremy Tyler (the guy who skipped his senior year in HS to go pro in Israel), Jeremy Lamb, or Shelvin Mack.

In the "pipe dream" category, Terrence Jones. I'm not completely sold on Kyrie Irving, but if CLE will take Batum and a 20 pick be my guest. I don't think that's enough value, though, for a team looking for a star.
