The Nike Hoop Summit prospects have been at the Blazer PF this week and one player has been dominating, according to Draftexpress. Chad Ford said that he's the hot name among GM's and compared him to Serge Ibaka.

    Bismack Biyombo

    A bonafide freak of nature:

    6'7.75" w/o shoes
    6'9" w/shoes
    7'7" wingspan
    240 lbs.

    Chad Ford's biggest draft sleeper:

    Reggie Jackson - PG
    Boston College
    6'3" 210 lbs.
    18 PPG | 4.3 RPG | 4.5 APG | 42 3PT%
    Ford's comparison: "Russell Westbrook-esqe"

I don't want anyone whose best month is October.

Ford also said there isn't a superstar talent in this draft. Why not take a chance on a sleeper like Bismack like we did with Batum?

I disagree with Ford. Kyrie Irving could be a superstar.

I've never seen Bismack play before but from the reviews and comparisons, why not take a chance?

Also, Kyrie Irving is the next great point guard. He is worthy of the #1 pick.

I doubt if he'll be available when we pick. DraftExpress already has him penciled in at 18, and I think he'll easily move up into the tail end of the lottery, perhaps even top 10, by the time the draft rolls around. He's the type of athlete that should be a workout monster and dominate other less athletic players at the camps and multi-player workouts.

His recent international experience should also help him at the camps and workouts. Yeah, it's only been 14 games, but he's an 18-year old kid playing against grown men and putting up some amazing numbers in limited minutes. In just 17 MPG, he's averaging 5.1 RPG and 2.3 BPG.

I'm going to be at the Nike Hoop Summit on Saturday. Anybody know who I should look out for from the international side?

I would say, especially for Portland, primarily Biyombo and Nogueira. Both PF/Cs.

    I just realized something....

The Blazers DON'T HAVE A FIRST ROUND PICK this year.

Cho & Co. are going to have to buy in or trade in.

Yes they do. They traded away the N.O. pick, and our 2013 pick for Wallace, not our 2011.

Not a good comparison at all. Batum was projected by most as a late lotto level pick. But just prior to the draft he had a heart scare during a workout in NJ. Since his Dad died on the court of a heart attack, teams were understandably concerned and he fell on draft day.

That said, I'll be very interested to see if those measurements on Bismack bear out in the pre-draft as they are truly eye-popping.

Both Draftexpress (Givoni is legit) and Chad Ford say they are hearing that Bismack will be a late lotto pick now and could climb higher with workouts.

I'm all about taking a flyer on a big. Here's an interesting name to keep an eye on: Patric Young, a 6'9" PF/C out of Florida.

If he stayed one more year he'd be a top-10 pick next year. If he comes out this season, which is likely, he'll be a mid-to-late first round pick.

you just answered your own question from the OP... Portland won't take a flier on BB because he'll probably already have been drafted
