I think Platypus and maxiep are right. It's why we were 4th and SA was 3rd in 08-09 even if we were 3-1 against the Spurs that year.
Shit - while this is great for us getting the 6th seed . . . but I just bought tix for Wednesday's GSW game in Oakland and it'll be my 4yr son's very first Blazer (or NBA for that matter) game ever. It would suck if the Blazers rested all of the starters because my son already knows most of the players and loves LMA and Nic!!!
If Golden State beats Denver tonight, that game could still be meaningful. Portland would be gunning for the #5 seed (though they'd need help from Utah too).
Division winner tiebreaker comes before head to head tiebreaker. Division winners are guaranteed the "4th" seed over a team with a superior record, but are not guaranteed home court advantage, so effectively they are guaranteed the "5th" seed as I would define it.
Alright. Mavs looking like they'll hold on, pushing OKC down to 4. DAL will temporarily be above LAL (one more win, same losses), but they'll most likely drop to 3.
Still a chance for 5th. Denver is having a close one with Golden State. It would be nice to see the Blazers have the very last game to decide if we are 5th or 6th. I think we are destined to meet the Lakers in the first round.
I want to play Dallas. Dallas losing would put OKC ahead to 3. Dallas winning would at least give them a chance of getting third (LAL will be behind just for tonight.)
