Give the top 3 reasons why you despise the Lakers?

    Mine:

1.) They have been our nemesis. We just can't seem to beat them for whatever reason.

2.) They draw the best stars in the NBA. Just because of location, many superstars would love to play in the city.

3.) They are so damn cocky. <-- I actually was a fan of the showtime Lakers. The Shaq era on was a complete change in attitude that seriously made my hatred grow.

So there you have it. Yeah I'm the envious little brother that is pissed the team down the I-5 gets all the breaks.

Why ask why. There are very few things that generate the amount of loathing in my head than the Lakers. I wish for nothing other for that team to go 0-82 every year and eventually fold as a franchise due to futility.

I don't hate them. They're actually pretty fun to watch play and I loved the Showtime Lakers of the 1980s. Of course, I'd rather they lose when they play the Blazers.

Magic Johnson before the 1991 WCF - "Well, they may be Portland, but we still the Lakers!". Ugh.

Kobe Bryant after charging into Scottie Pippen with no foul called, and hitting the shot standing over Pippen - "Get Up, Bitch!".

I do find many of their fans to be lame. Similarly to Yankees fans, they confuse their favourite teams' accomplishments with their own.

Well get ready guys because this hatred and "one sided rivalry" will set it's stage again starting Saturday. We will meet the Lakers in the first round. And only until we can successfully beat them when they are at full strength is when we finally get the monkey off our backs. We beat them during the year we played the Bulls in Chicago, but that was when they lost their entire legacy of players. 1977 was the only time the Blazers actually beat the Lakers when the Lakers were good. We need to make this a true rivalry. One that has the Blazers getting the same respect as the Lakers.

OMG, I sound like a complete psycho! <--- I call it like I see it.

    My three reasons:
    1.) Their Fans
    2.) Their Fans
    3.) Their Fans

    Also, their fans.

    Ok, Jet...oh, fuck thats Mags..

Naw man they dont like us either, I remember Phil and his "poor mans Portland " BS. They get up to play us as much as we do for them. Could be the seconed game of the season and it feels like the playoffs.

They may come off with some lofty bs how we dont matter, but we know better. They never want to get their asses kicked by little brother.

No don't get me wrong brother. I know the Lakers always show up to play the Blazers. Always have been. Problem is they hold scoreboard in the playoffs, where it matters most. Little brother needs to grow up enough to finally kick the living shit out of big brother. I think when that happens, our chances for titles come much sooner than later. I'm a karma kinda guy!

AND WTF?!?!?! Don't call me Jet!

The 1977 WCF was a confluence of a few things: Walton, Lucas, and the rest had completely hit their stride, they were humming like a well-oiled machine. Combine that with the fact that Kermit Washington and Lucious Allen, two of their better players, were out with an injury sustained in the previous series, and that the Lakers were reduced to one offensive option: Kareem. Jabbar averaged 35/17 for the series, but the Laker guards got TORCHED by Davis, Hollins, and Gilliam. With Washington and Lucious in there for the Lakers, it would have been a much more competitive series.

I never hated Magic, I never hated Kobe. Heckling Kobe is one thing, but hating him is another. I've always had mad respect for both of those guys as basketball players. Two of the best I've ever seen, easy.

My whole family is from SoCal and love the Lakers. I grew up enjoying watching them play in the 80's. I actually don't hate them. I def respect them!

This is my thought as well, at least until the 2000 playoffs. I coulnd't stand the Lakers after Magic threw the ball down the court in the 1991. I started hating the Lakers during the 2000 season (Phil Jackson's "jackals" comment still makes me mad"), and Game 7 cemented it for me. The Denver Broncos and the LA Lakers are my two most hated teams. Nobody else is even close.

The abundance of cholo's wearing #8 jerseys that come to Blazer games and act like fools up in the nose bleeds. You know, the ones with a shaved head and a rat-tail.

Also, I despise Kobe and his smug arrogance he has always displayed and how he throws temper tantrums when things dont go his way and gets away with it.

Never liked Phil Jackson, either. Lets see how he does when he has a team without 2 HOF'ers on it at any given time. Thats right, he'd retire.

Fisher bugs me just for the mere fact that he's not good, but happens to get glory by hitting big shots in the crunch time.

Bynum all of the sudden thinks he's a bad ass, someone needs to seriously lay his ass out.

Other than that, I don't mind Gasol, in fact I have big respect for his game and changing his game over the years. Artest has never really bothered me either. Barnes is just an ugly motha fucka, but I like his never back down attitude. Oh, and I'm glad greasy Vujacic is gone because he just got on my nerves the amount of times fucked around with the tassle that kept his hair out of his eyes.

Yeah, nevermind. I pretty much hate everything about the purple and piss.

    1. They are from LA.
    2. LA represents all that is evil in the sports world.
    3. I hate evil!

    Simple as that
